"the post was only about how easy it is to put condoms on, not how to use them".....Whaaaattt??? How do you use a **** after you put it on? You put it on and then forget about it.

And of course over half the population can put on a ****, but can they put it on correctly? That's another story. I'm just saying it's not like putting on a shirt like you make it sound in the post.

okay, the post is about putting the little latex disk over the tip, and sliding the rolled up latex down the shaft, until it fits correctly and won't slip off mid-coitus. how can i simplify this any more for you? putting on a **** is easier than putting on a shirt. hah

They're not the disgraced minority. The "typical use" failure rate of a ** is roughly 17%, compared to 2% for a perfect use. That means if 100 people have , 15 will end up pregnant because they used the ** incorrectly.

welp if you wanna get all serious and throw your statistics around, go for it, but the post was only about how easy it is to put condoms on, not how to use them.

it is a disgrace if someone cant put a ** on right. it is the minority considering how easily they are put on. im positive that much less than 51% of users cant put on a **.

It wouldn't just be his sexual identity, it would be his ENTIRE identity. That's just too vindictive for my liking. Prison is a bad enough punishment on its own. In the high-security ones, there is literally nothing to do. You get like, half an hour of being outside per day. If you spent your entire life in a solitary cell, that would probably be worse than any other punishment.

I promise you that I am not cruel, I am not vindictive, I am not full of hate. In choosing my position on such a controversial issue, I considered all aspects. I thought of the humanity of the rapist, his rights, and the humanity of the victims, their rights. I came to the conclusion that after having their lives taken away and returned to them at lesser value, the victims are the ones who need defense. The victims are the ones who need a voice, sympathy, protection. I don't want to cause more pain than necessary, that's why I believe putting an end to the rapacious libidos of those who sexually assault the innocent is the best solution.

But like I said, most rapists go free. If it were guaranteed that the convicted rapists would face punishment such as the type you described, I wouldn't even feel the need to consider castration. You need to understand that the rapist steals the identity of his victim, and like you said, most rapists are serial rapists. So here's this guy, stealing the identities of multiple women, yet still getting to keep his own. It's not right. His should be taken away as well, before he has the chance to take any others.

I probably have no idea what it's like to be a rape victim, but I don't think I would want any more pain to be inflicted, so I wouldn't want him castrated. I would want him in prison (unless he was mentally ill, then I would want him in a mental hospital). I would probably think he was scum, but I would try not to hate him.
Most rapists are serial rapists. I'm pretty sure you can get a life sentence for serial rape.

That's a nice idea that you wouldn't want to spread anymore pain, really. I said the same thing until my experience. It's an easy thing to say now, as one free of the pain of rape, but until you know the pain, you really can't say what you would feel. It changes your mind, it changes how you see the entire world, it takes away that innocence that makes you so ready to defend one who would cause such destruction. My main point: the most effective way to minimize the amount of pain coming from this type of situation is to handicap the one causing the most pain, and the truth is that the pain of being raped is far stronger than the pain of being a castrated person. If you want to stop pain, you would support castration of rapists.

As far as I know, no mental disorder is 100% genetic. (For example: schizophrenia. There's a 1% risk that the general population will get it at some point. But if one of your parents has had schizophrenia, there's a 50% risk.)

high heritability rate that should be taken into consideration when dealing with an afflicted patient. An insane person who is able to comprehend their disease will most likely be insistent on not reproducing and not spreading their struggle onto another human. If you had a horrible disease that made day-to-day living an intense battle, would you want to have children and risk putting them through the same pain? Probably not.

I'm being oversensitive because I think you're being undersensitive.
They could learn impulse control if they were put in a psychiatric hospital, they don't have to be subjected to castration. They probably would miss their testicles, because being insane is not like being in a dream state. Depending on the disorder, you can still tell what's going on.

What you're interpreting as undersensitivity is actually a logical bias towards the plight of the raped. I choose to be more empathatic towards their pain than the pain of castration that rapists have earned. Why would you want to be more sympathetic towards one who stole than the one who was taken from?
I took an AP Psychology class my senior year, and although this does not make me an expert on psychology, it does make me educated in all facets of mental disorder. I know that insanity is not a dream state. If one is truly insane, they will not miss their testicles. They will be too concerned with their delusions. If one is insane, yet still can "tell what's going on", then they will be able to comprehend the right vs. wrong system of order and will know that raping someone was wrong. They will understand their punishment. They will know that they deserve it.

Quite frankly I dont think it should matter what they do to create beautiful art, and shouldnt be judged for it. sober or not. Its the final product that counts and its also their own bodies so its not like listening to 'drug inspired' tunes will hurt you. Also: Maybe they didnt do drugs for the sole purpose of creating art, MAYBE they just did it for kicks and a good experience and MAYBE it was just so awesome that they wanted to make a piece of art about it....its not like everyones going 'omg i need to get high or else i cant write this song'

your assumptions (for example, presuming that i believe "drug-inspired tunes will hurt me" or that EVERY artist believes he must get high to create) are ridiculous. i never said anything that could logically lead to the conclusions you've presented.

in interpreting art, no, i dont take into consideration whether the artist had drugs in his system or not; however, in choosing which artist i respect the most, i would definitely pick a sober one over another that has to smoke or shoot up before every creation sesh. this post was not about the product, but instead about the artist making it.

Some artists don't "need" drugs to be brilliant, but on or off drugs, they are brilliant. And I wouldn't say I respect them less because some of their great songs were created when they were on drugs.

i'm just saying i think sober artists deserve more respect. they can pull whatever beautiful stuff they need to create out of their mind on their own..they dont need the inhibition of cannabis or the rush of cocaine to stimulate them into production. i prefer seeing into the mind as it is, not as it was when influenced.
