+462 It's horribly sad when some one posts "rip Dad. miss you so much. <3" as their facebook status. But really, facebook isn't the place for that; it seems a bit fake. amirite?

Isn't that part of Facebook's purpose? Expressing what you are thinking to friends?

exactly. and it's a way of telling people what's going on. so people know what happened.

I suppose so. But most of the time people are "Friends" with random acquaintances, old or current coworkers, friends from high school they were never really close with, etc. I just think something intimate like that could use some privacy. I guess it's just me.

I feel like it is an individual choice.

Facebook is all fake anyways. It's fake emotions and fake lives. People usually post whatever will result in the attention they want. Accept it's fake and use it, or start spending time with people so they see who you really are.

I feel that things like that should be reserved for face to face conversation, where friends can support you in real life and real time. Plus If my dad died, I wouldn't have the strength to type it onto a social networking site. I mean seriously.

I disagree totally with what you guys are saying. My sister passed away when I was younger and on her birthday I always put RIP little sister. It's a way to let people know you haven't forgotten, and I fully believe that anything can be seen/heard/known about from heaven. (:
