I have so many books in my house, they're spilling off the shelves and now there are just stacks on the floor as well.. I wouldn't be against a kindle to get rid of some of the clutter I'm guessing a lot of people felt the same about vinyl/tapes/CDs/MP3s but it hasn't stopped technology from developing Although just think how many books you could buy for the price of a kindle!

Yes but then the downloadable books cost less than a real one so if you buy enough, you'll eventually come out even.

Omg I don't want to be here for the day books become extinct in the wake of technology. Hopefully I'll be in the ground with my favorite books around me by then but than again that'd be bad. I'd slowly rot and seep into the books :S
