if earth blew up and there were no aliens around to here it, does it make a sound, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
No, because sounds isn't formed until the waves hit the eardrum and the vibrations are interpreted by the brain as sound, and sounds waves can't travel in the vacuum of space.
And I already know people are gonna hate on me for being so serious about it, so here ya go, a bunny:

it makes a sound but nobody hears it because if earth really blew up, we would all be dead. and if we weren't from that we would die from no air in space.

If the earth blew up, humans and animals would still have like a fraction of a second to hear it

Mechanical waves (sound waves) can't travel through a vacuum - they require a medium to pass through. For sound waves, air molecules are the required medium. Is there air in space? No. So there is no sound.

No sound. But an explosion would cause radiation which can be interpreted as sound

Unless the aliens installed indestructible microphones on earth and played back the recording
