+281 People should not blindly follow rules. Don't just not kill because God said not to. Don't kill because you know that it is wrong. amirite?

Before you read this, I do want you to know that I do not condone murder. That being said, why is murder wrong? Where did that ideal come from?

Well, to me, I think it is wrong because you should not be able to take someone elses life, it is not up to you who lives and dies. My point of the post is that you should believe something because you believe it not because someone or something told you to.

Well if it isn't up to us then who is it up to?

to me, my personal belief, is that it isn't up to anyone, people die when they die. I am against capital punishment and war and really any type of killing. But that is my personal belief which is what I think is right, but I understand other people have different views.

This is sort of hypocritical...

Sorry, double post.

Well, for the most part, sure, I agree. But there are some things where you trust the rulemaker to have good reason to have made the rule, and you accept it without needing to question it because the rulemaker has shown pretty sound judgement in the past. Like, once you've studied and chosen a religion to follow, there are things you just do without question, because you believe God knows best.

It's definitely100% a good message, to know why you are following the rules, but the example was kinda wierd.... I'm pretty sure that everyone (except for killers, obviously) knows that murdering is wrong....
