+549 Africa isnt just black people, theres plenty of white people too. So, white people can be African American, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Duuuuude, you just got this idea from my post! Not cool. >=O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, i got this idea from a post a girl made saying that africa has plenty of developed places, not just poverty. Nice try though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh. Damn...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also, I just looked at your post and its about saying its not right calling people African American, I didnt say anything about that, I said white people could be too. Pay attention.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They wouldnt be african americans, they would just be africans. unless they come to america they wouldnt be african "americans". and once they come to america, they are just judged by skin, so blacks are still africans, and whites are considered americans. so if they are in africa, they arent African Americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wasnt refering to if they live in Africa, sorry for not stating that part. I was just thinking about all school testing and stuff would have African American and they would automatically assume black.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If they are white, either they probly didnt live there long, or they are Albino African Americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Weren't there long? White people have lived in Africa for hundreds of years. What the hell are you talking about? Haha. And obviously, you've never seen an Albino.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The white people in africa moved from europe when whites colonized there I believe. So no, they would not technically be Africans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you attempting to tell me only black people can be born in Africa?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not just black people, but if a white person come from africa and a black person comes from africa, the white is just known as an American, the black is known as an African American, its to see the difference in the race of skin tone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

in the race or skin tone*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah I'm aware what theyre known as, I'm saying that techincally theyre still African American, despite what we see on their skin.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

if were being technical about it, whites are from europe, so their ancesters arent from africa, but blacks ancesters are, which means that whites arent african at all, their european and blacks are african american.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And being passed down, white people can be born in Africa, so theyre are African, because theyre born there. My ancestors were not from America, but I am American, because i was born here, technically.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, they are considered African, but they arent really. If i was born in the international waters, i wouldnt be part international water. But technically they arent real africans if they were just born there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And I'm not technically American, but if a white person, born in Africa, comes to America, they would be considered African American. Just like I am American, because its where I was born and raised, not where I came from a hundred years back.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no they wouldnt, they would be considered just American. because they are white, thats like white and black, white: American, black: add african so you can tell the difference: African American. If you saw a white person and a black person, you wouldnt be like, which one? the african american or the african american, its just to tell the difference between the two races.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I repeat myself, I know what they would be considered. Obviously you see a white person you think theyre American, but if you are born in Africa, you're African. I dont are what color your skin is. I'm not talking about what people would see, I'm saying no matter what they see, it's true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They arent true africans because they are from Europe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And we're not true American's, because were from everywhere else, but we say we are, because it's where were born. If you're born in Africa, you're African. Quit trying to argue that. Haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

like i said earlier, if theres a white person and they are african, a lot of times people call them Albino African Americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Have you seen an Albino? That makes no sense. It's a completely different race of people..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes i have seen one. and technically im just saying White people wouldnt be considered African Americans, i dont know why, they just arent, i even looked it up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whites live in South Africa, so if they are called anything with african in it, they are called White South Africans, But no, they are not called African Americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I understand they're not. This post is not about what they actually are considered, or why they're not considered something, or where they originally came from. My point is if you're born in Africa, you're African. You're not black if you're born in Africa, you can be white. And a white person born in Africa, is African just as much as the next person, no matter what they try to argue.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, your saying whites can be african americans. but they arent, they are called white south africans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

everyone's ancestors came from africa so we'er all africans now stfu

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no they didnt, they all started in europe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They've lived there for a few hundred years. They don't marry the blacks typically because of social class limitations. Its not like America.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes I am caucasian and I was born in Kenya. Then I moved to New York and I am African American.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess it would depend on the way they label themselves. If I was born in Africa, I'd totally pull the African-American card xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If u were born and raised in africa ur african. U move over here u get ur greencard become legal ur american. Technically that will make u an african american. whether other people base u on ur skin color or not has nothing to do with it. No1 else will call u african american. Too much racism in the air, theyre afraid of offending someone. but it doesnt matter what people consider u its what u consider urself and what u r.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and all of this is why political correctness is stupid. its black and white

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, my ancestors were from Europe. But I was born in America, so I'm considered American, right? If somebody was born in Africa, then they are an African, it doesn't matter what color of skin they have or where their ancenstors came from hundreds of years ago. Kay?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Techniquely, we are all African-something, because life orginated there. It doesn't matter what your skin color is one of your ancestors was African making everybody in America techniquely African American.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Everybody came from Africa , go back to world geography

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im aware of that. im not talking abput where our ancestors came from, or id say everyone is african. im simply implying that if a white person is born in africa theyre african, just as much as the black person born in africa.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

omg just call them black. its not a huge deal.. sorry if that was racist but this conversation annoyed me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not talking about the black people, I'm talking about white ones. Pay attention if you're gonna critcize two other people.
