Being deaf would undoubtedly be worse than being blind, amirite?

If you were deaf you could supposedly still "feel" sound so it doesnt stop you from being a musician or anything. and if you are deaf you could lip read so you can see what people are saying, and you can also still talk while deaf so you dont lose as much!

Feeling music: it's the same thing.

Can't live without music.

Ha, you are such a music geek. I am too though, so I have to say I agree...
by Anonymous14 years ago
Haha. I would cry if I couldn't hear.
by Anonymous14 years ago
but if you couldn't you see you would keep on smiling?

I would be slightly saddened, but then I would listen to the Beatles.

Wow, a ton of people are like NO. My worst score ever possibly.

I am deaf. I loved music, but had to give it up, but I am SO thankful I can read captions, books, SEE concerts, feel vibrations.

Well, than you, but.. truthfully.. losing my hearing was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me, it shaped me into the person I am today :)

Hehe, and Rocky.. I'm gonna guess no 'blind' people will agree with this, cause well ya know :D But you seem nice, so I'm not going to be all "oh no deaf is better than blind!" Good observation and support of why you would think it would be worse.

Yeah, you're probably right lol.

In addition, to signing, reading people's lips, having conversations, pictures, photos, I can see myself and my family.

To me it really does come down to either losing beautiful sounds, or the beautiful colors of the world. But as an art lover, I have to go with being deaf being better. Not to mention the good points everyone else also made above.
Though, thanks for posting this! I always try to ask people which one they would rather be and they get all, "Well why would I WANT either?" It's hypothetical, kthanks.

True.

I would not like being blind, when I am blindfolded or have to keep my eyes closed, it's scary!

I am actually partially deaf but I am so glad that i am not completely. However it would kill me if I couldn't hear my family talk to me but just as much if I couldn't see them too.

Studies have shown that deaf people feel more cut off from the world and have higher rates of depression, self-harm and suicide.
