The book is ALWAYS better than the movie, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's not to say that the movie is never good though.

True, but books can go into so much more detail and the personal thoughts of characters, which movies cannot.

Movies can capture the visual beauty that words cannot.

I would say that whichever came first would be better, like Star Wars books (at least the ones that I have read) haven't been very good.

I agree, there was a Ghost Rider book that was based on the movie, I couldn't understand why anyone would read it.

Me too, I agree whichever came first is the best: http://amirite.net/669557

While I am generally in favor of reading the book before I watch the movie, I think it is somewhat irrelevant to compare them. Reading a book and watching a movie are two entirely dissimilar experiences, even if they are telling the same story. Each highlights different aspects of the story because they are two completely different mediums.

Two great examples of the movie being better than the book: Wizard of Oz and Forrest Gump.
