even worse, most of the time they go outside with absolutly no protection. no weapons or anything, so if something weird IS out there, theyre totally screwed.

Yes I used to know a phrase for that something like plot convenience. Mostly they would be better off if there wasn't some idiot teen girl screaming all the time. Typical teen that is why they - teens suck Sooooooooooooooo much.
