+829 People should stop making cancer jokes. Let's see you go through a round or two of chemo and see if you're still laughing, amirite?

Ladies with cancer come into my job quite often, and they are always the nicest people. This is one thing I would never joke around with.

True~ my mother is a cancer survivor and jokes like those make my heart ache.

I couldn't even imagine how that must be. When they come in and are crying because they finished chemo and just want to treat themselves it almost always makes me tear up..

You know exactly how I feel. My mom has cancer

because something as simple as Bath and Body works makes them so happy.

my mom loves bath and body. she was so sad when they cancelled her favorite soap, she would take a shower with it after chemo.

@PNKFLYD I was very young when it happened and I couldnt fully grasp what was happening. But it's been a few years now since she's been clear but I can't help but worry about the possibility of it coming back.

We found out a few months ago that my 13 year old brother has lymphoma and i still tense up or cringe when I hear jokes.

I am a cancer survivor and I had cancer when I was. 12. I'm 16 now, but it the jokes make me angry when I've met so many wonderful friends, and young kids who have had cancer, and some of my friends have died from it.

I don't see why cancer being serious and terrible should excuse it from jokes.

lol @ cancer

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Excuse me, who are the dumb-butts making cancer jokes?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

jerks and assholes? I can appreciate a good joke. But cancer? Couldn't you find somethings better? I mean, do you really have to sink that low?

i still laugh Even though i've been dealing it for almost a decade on and off Its not because its funny but because it makes of feel like i am in power Like i can stigl be normal 20 year old, still get a degree, a job, etc. Don't judge people who choose to feel empowered
