+125 Everyone says that BP is going to pay big time for what they've done, as in millions and millions of dollars. But getting sued doesn't change the fact that they are ruining the ocean, killing countless animals, and doing irreversible damage to the Earth, a beautiful planet of which we have only ONE. Money can't buy us everything, and it certainly cannot buy us life or restoration. amirite?

We don't need the environment to be perfect. Imagine the worst case scenario: oceans are trashed and the average lifespan shortens 5 or 10 years. No biggie, we are already populating the world way too fast. We need something to bring the human race down to a more manageable size.

I REALLY hope that you're joking.

Earth isn't the only one we have, I think Mars would make a pretty nice home once we add some water and a little bit of greenery

We don't even know if that's possible yet. And even so we better keep Earth clean because there is no way we can use Mars as a back up plan if we don't even have the technology to fix this oil spill let alone support life and transfer millions of people to another planet.

That isn't just something we would be able to do overnight, you know.

I agree because most lawsuits are stupid and don't cause anything but more needless regulation (not with this case particularly, but something like warning labels on a cup of coffee).
