+103 People say that guys should put the toilet seat down, but they have as much right to leave the seat up as us girl have to leave it down. So either look before you sit, or put the seat up for the guys, and stop having a double standard, amirite?

thank you

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yw, im a girl, but i still think that if guys have to do that, so do girls.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah but water splashes out and hits tooth brushes and everything....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

either way thats still going to happen.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not if the toilet seat is all the way down... meaning both so that it is completely closed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thats not what im talking about, if your worried about the water splashing, move the toothbrushes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well if that's the case your right. Putting only the first part down wouldn't make any sense but when people say put the toilet seat down they usually mean all the way...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, girls just leave the first part down, and guys put both up, but when girls say put the toilet seat down, they mean the first part so they dont fall in. either way the water still splashes. and girls should be smart enough to look before they sit, because im sure smart enough to.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm just saying that everyone I know that says put the toilet seat down, they don't mean the first part - they don't consider the toilet seat as being closed. I notice when a guy put the toilet seat down - guys rarely do it anymore + I really appreciate it when they do

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Then my hands get pee on them as I'm putting the seat down cause they missed and its gross

by Anonymous 13 years ago

they dont usually "miss", also, if your saying guys get pee on the seat, so do girls sometimes. When they stand after, someones pee drips on the seat.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not nearly as often and maybe its just me but every guy I know misses all the frickin time

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no they dont. i know 3 year olds that dont miss.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hehe ok ok. Must just be the guys at my house (probably too much to drink haha) I'm going to sleep now... thanks for the entertainment.

mythbusters disproved that water hitting the toothbrush thing forever ago

by Anonymous 13 years ago

congratulations, you were the first non- anonymous comment

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How did they fit blowing something up into that episode? O.o

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who leaves their toothbrush right beside the toilet?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i've always thought that it was weird that us girls expected guys to put the seat down when girls don't do the same and put the seat up for guys. stop complaining and put it down yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't like germs.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's a toilet: any interaction you have with it will involve germs.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't eat with my ass cheeks.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was under the impression that one washes their hands after using the facilities. It's not like you're coating your hand in urine or feces (sorry for the mental image).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There's piss a lot of the times o.o I could wash my hands after I put the toilet seat down, but that doesn't make me any less scared of the germs, it's just a thing with me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"Oh, the seat is up! I better go find a guy to yell at so he can put it down!" Yeah, it takes like two seconds to put the seat down. Do it yourself every once in a while

Chivarly is dead

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nahh it's just in hibernation

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's as dead as chauvinism.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think we should all just put the seat all the way down. It makes the most sense to me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Right? Its not really a gender issue and I don't care if I had to be the one to put two seats down. The top lid is always supposed to be down in my opinion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, I live with just my mom and we both put the seat down.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What's the big deal? When you're done, just put forth the extra ounce of energy to put the damn seat down. It's not like you have to demolish and reassemble the entire toilet after each usage. Jesus.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I always expect the toilet seat to be down in my house because everyone knows to close the lid also... Leaving it up is kinda gross.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah I think its kinda weird to have a toilet just open... And the bathroom starts smelling like toilet water. And dogs could drink out of it. Seems more convenient for everybody if the thing is completely closed to begin with.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think it should depend on whose toilet it was first. Say a girl moves in with her boyfriend. It was his place first, so he should get to leave it up or down if he wants. If the couple is married, I suggest rock, paper, scissors.

Male: Number 1 - Up Number 2 - Down Female: Number 1 - Down Number 2 - Down 3 to 1. There.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's not necessarily true. I'm female and I put the seat up so that I can sit more forward and not have the splashing noises.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My two cents: human pee is sterile, you could drink your own pee like water. Fact. Unless you have a UTI obviously, but other than that. Oh, and poop.. Poop is not sterile.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I agree that since the guy put the seat up, he should be the one to put it down. As a girl, I know that one of the most annoying things is when you have to pee at night and you almost fall in because the seat's up, or at least for me it is. It's just so much more considerate, even for other guys who have to Number Two.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How retarded do you have to be to not look before you sit down? You could say the exact same thing for guys going in to pee in the middle of the night and not seeing that the seat is down and peeing all over it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Am I one of the only girls who doesn't actually have a huge problem with this? On another note, this reminds me of the time when I was 4 and my friend purposely put the seat up so I would fall in. It ruined my Madeline dress and I got revenge by hiding her stuffed elephant >:D
