Scantron is a shitty test answer sheet that has a bunch of rectangle boxes to fill in instead of bubbles. A machine grades the tests so the teacher doesn't have to, which is why OP says that it's the lazy way to grade tests.

Maybe it is somewhat lazy sometimes, but its also cool for the students when it means the teachers can get the grades back super fast

Yeah, it's totally lazy when a professor has 700 students' tests to grade but uses scantrons.
