Who cares what something is called.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because when they started having compititions they considered it a sport.

So if my friend and I have a sandwich-making competition, does that automatically make it a sport?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So? They have competitions for cheerleading too-does that make it a sport? NO

it isn't...?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

officially, yes. But not in my heart.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't see how chess can be considered a sport, but cheerleading isn't an official sport anymore.

It's a sport?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was about to disagree, because I love Chess, but then I was like "Yeah he's right..."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I still do not see it as a sport because by definition a sport is an activity involving physical activity/exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules I mean yeah, they got the governed rule part. But physical activity/exertion?? Really? Not tryin to bash on chess. I respect it, but I just don't count it as a sport. I'm a 3rd year kinesiology major and none of my fellow kines peers see it as a sport either.

When did chess become a sport?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

aw come on! cooking is more of a sport than chess. besides, i'd rather watch a cooking competition, at least it's mildly interesting. watching 2 people play chess is like watching paint dry.

no it is not
