+129 It's disappointing that Dawn has an ad showing the soap being used to clean off animals caught in oil spills, but Dawn is owned by Procter & Gamble, which tests on animals, amirite?

I always kind of wonder if they dip the baby ducks in oil before they start filming the scene with the people cleaning the oil off.

Biological sciences have relied on animal testing for thousands of years. Yes there are records and evidence over 5 thousand years ago of such experiments. This was called protoscience and was a precursor to modern science. For example following/believing the tenants of the water god led to better crops. These tenants were methods for handling plant life and pest extermination which was written by man and attached to a god. The most efficient results led to an evolution in logical thinking. Over time the scientific process has produced more definitive results. People have been harnessing the life and resources around them more efficiently and effectively than ever before. So in the grand scheme of things killing millions of animals, insects and trillions of microorganisms in order to save hundreds of millions of humans and protect the species we cohabit this planet with is a not just worth while but incredibly beneficial.

It's kind of like Dove and their pro-women, self esteem campaign.. but they're affiliated with Axe, which only has scantily clad, desperate-looking girls chasing after guys.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

So if you are pro-woman you are against scantily clad, desperate-looking girls chasing after guys?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

generally, yes.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

So you have to be against certain women to be for women?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Well, the extreme feminist group people are.

Oh, I get it... raise your hand for homogenized culture. Everyone must ace a certain way to be legitimate.
