...or Inuit. Either.
Yeah, it's Inuit. One of my distant grandmothers was one :)
No, inuit is a type of "eskimo"
the politically correct term is alaskan native.
No, Inuit=Eskimo. I am Canadian, trust me.
I've heard that Alaskan/Inuit/Eskimo people's PC term was Aleutian, but I'm not sure.
Some school you went to.
Politically correct isnt always correct so who cares whats PC as long as its correct. Such as not all blacks are African Americans. Theres the obvious if they live outside America. But also some middle eastern people are black while not African. Lets be honest here, we are trying to define someone by the color of there skin without admitting to ourselves that we are.
Maybe that is the PC term?
Um, i live in alaska and the correct term is Native Alaskan.
@679208 (polarthebear): No, Inuit is a specific type of Eskimo along with Yupik.
Most eskimos aren't american. Eskimo is the correct term.
Most eskimos weren't born in America... I don't get what you are trying to say with that.
Inuits (the eskimos that live mostly in north america) get offended by the term. Other eskimos from greenland, russia, etc, don't mind the term as much. Another thing is that it is not 100% certain that eskimo even means 'eater of raw meat.'
No, Inuit IS the right term.
The Inuits live in nunavet
