+81 It's weird how shampoo can be used as a verb (I shampoo my hair) but conditioner can't, you can't say I conditioner my hair, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Are you fuckin retarded? The verb is "condition".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

uh, i can ask the same question right back at you. why don't you read the post before you make a stupid comment? im talking about the fact that the word shampoo itself can be used but the word conditioner itself can't be used as a verb. calm down, my god.

OMFG. YOU ACTUALLY ARE RETARDED. "Conditioner" and "condition" are two FORMS of the same word. Spelled differently, but they're the same word. Believe it or not, "shampoo" the noun and "shampoo" the verb are also two forms of the same word, but I guess that's probably confusing to you since they're spelled the same.

And you gave me a -1? You are so juvenille! Grow up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OP meant the //actual// word itself, not a derivative. Condition is a derivative of conditioner whereas shampoo (noun) and shampoo(are //exactly// the same.

I diagreed with the OP, but want to assure the OP that I do NOT share the sentiment of Anon. That person is a coward (for being Anon) and the only retard in this conversation. I only say NW because while I loved the idea, I've been teaching ESL for 7 years and currently work as an english language editor for a series of magazines, so can't help but find it obvious why the difference is that way :-( All it really proves is that my career is steadily sucking all the humour out of me! haha

Yea I agree with anon. If you were unaware that some nouns can be used as verbs while others can't (such as shampoo can, and conditioner can't: it needs another word with an "er" at the end) then you should retake the 3rd grade. Welcome to the English language.

i assure you as somebody who has taken a shitload of english and linguistic classes, i'm pretty good in that area. this truly was just a random thought that i decided to make a post, even though it's not a quality idea at all, haha

lol @ everything about this post. i made it 2 years ago, i was in the shower and happened to think it was funny that you say shampoo exactly the same way for both noun and verb form, but conditioner you have to remove the "er." i KNOW that it's just a different form, i just meant the exact word for what it is. i also know that this is quite a dumb post, but hey, we can't always win
