Braces are a form of torture that our parents pay thousands of dollars to have inflicted on us, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Assuming that you actually had a problem in the first place, it is SO worth it to get them off.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Braces fix an ugly smilee..how is that bad?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Have you had braces? Sure, they are definitely worth it after you get them off but for the couple years you have them that is definitely NOT what you're thinking about.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Seriously. I have braces and just got them adjusted. Major ouch!
by Anonymous13 years ago
When a smile is truly "ugly", considered by everyone involved as "ugly", then you might consider braces. But more often than not, these are unnecessary tools that simply help make us dull conformists. Who said that "straight" teeth were perfect? What happened to the beauty of individuality? But your opinion certainly wouldn't be considered bad, it's just I think it's awfully close-minded.

Ya I have had braces and I think complaining that your parents paid thousands of dollars to legit help there child's appearance is annoying and childish.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Then just vote 'No Way' on this and it's all good. Amirite is just a place to express opinions, and obviously you're just tougher than the rest of us because we complain about our teeth hurting.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You are so undeserving of anything your parents do for you then. They pay thousands of dollars for YOU.. imagine if they didn't care and you never got braces... your teeth would look terrible.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Woah, everybody's entitled to their own opinions, but to say somebody's teeth would look terrible without braces, and to say they don't deserve anything from their parents simply because they didn't want braces, is just plain horrible, close-minded, rude and inconsiderate. Just my opinion, of course.
by Anonymous10 years ago
It's worth it in the end, though. My teeth are prefect now.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's not like you have to have them. They're purely cosmetic in most cases.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You should be grateful that your parents are willing to fork out $6000 (or around that price depending on your country) to get braces. Some people have painfully crooked teeth but their parents can't afford braces. I have braces, and when I get them off in a year, all the pain will have been worth it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
See, why on earth are we spending money on braces for children whose teeth are practically fine, who will probably gain little from it, and will almost definitely complain, when there are so many less fortunate children with "painfully crooked teeth" who probably need these, but don't get them because of the expenses. Braces have their uses, but are often wasted on those who don't need them. Somebody should start a charity to fix the teeth of those who can't afford braces. But that would never happen.

I had braces for five years...It worked wonders
by Anonymous13 years ago
I just got mine off a month ago. It's the biggest surprise ever when you get them off. You will feel beautiful. I still cant stop smiling at myself in the mirror and looking at my teeth.
by Anonymous13 years ago
um .. thousands ? i had mine for a year & a half & they were only about $500 . haha only $500 , you know im american xD
by Anonymous13 years ago
I am amazed. How on earth did you get braces for just $500 for one and a half years? It's a miracle.
by Anonymous10 years ago
they paid to fix your teeth so you won't have crooked teeth when you grow up. You know so people will look at you and think he/she has a nice smile. Or when you go to a job interview, the interviewer will have a better first impression of you. They are helping you in the long run
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ok, stop taking this so seriously people. Yes, we will be grateful when we get them off. And yes, our parents are willing to pay
the money. But when you have them on, you can't help but complain a little, we have that right.
by Anonymous13 years ago
No, you DONT have to complain, and you DONT have that right, ungrateful little kids... seriously
by Anonymous13 years ago
He doesn't have to complain, but he has the right to. And just because your opinions conflict doesn't mean he instantly becomes an ungrateful little kid. Seriously... =P
by Anonymous10 years ago
I couldn't care less about how my teeth look to other people. If they think my teeth are crooked and that makes me stupid or something, then GO FUCK YOURSELF. I can't care less about other peoples opinions about me. Unfortunately my parents decided that I needed braces. My orthodontist office is sooooo unproffesional it's ridiculous. They screw up EVERY FUCKING TIME. as in they make the wire too long and it cuts open my mouth all day. I hate society and how I absolutely must have straight teeth so that people wouldn't think badly of us.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's like asking why does society make us wear clothes... and we don't think badly of you if you have crooked teeth. Stop being paranoid and enjoy what your parents are doing for you, ungrateful little brat.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Wearing clothes and having straight teeth are very, very different things. A better comparison would be having expensive clothes and having straight teeth. Neither is strictly necessary, its just that people tend to look at you in a better light if you have them, because of the way society's raised us. And no, he is not an ungrateful little brat just because he doesn't "enjoy" having braces. Whether his parents spent money on them is irrelevant. But again, people are entitled to their own opinions.
by Anonymous10 years ago
Haha I don't know how many times I've heard you say those EXACT words
