+657 It's kind of odd how Independence Day is most often referred to as July 4th, but we don't go around saying, "Hey! Merry December 25th!" "Happy February 14th, want a chocolate?" or "I'm going trick-or-treating again for October 31st!", amirite?

Because Independence Day isn't a commercial/religious holiday. It's a holiday that celebrates the birth of this country. /shrugs But you have a point
