Depends. If you're diagnosed depressed then no. But if you're all, "Stacey said she was gonna text me at 3:00 and it's 3:03. No one likes me. My parents are such bitches. I hate my life. Why does no one understand mee??? :( :( :(. Then your parents have every right to tell you to shut the fuck up and get over yourself.
