+980 How do scientists or whoever know that you will eat 8 spiders in your lifetime? Did they just sit there and stare at someone sleep and watch to see if a spider crawled into their mouth? And more importantly, why didn't they stop them from eating the spider? amirite?

Thats not true. The spider would be scared away by your breathing. Unless you sleep with your mouth closed then it can't crawl into your mouth anyway

I refuse to believe that we eat spiders in our sleep. I just refuse.

i heard that this was a rumor started by some crazy woman and it isn't actually true. however, there are bug parts in most foods that you unintentionally eat. like, cereal or chocolate.

It's a myth

Not really sure if this is true either, but i was told that the whole spider eating thing was a myth invented to test how fast urban myths spread. lol XD

Well I have no idea if this is true, and I really hope that it isn't at all!

The spider thing is a myth, but it is fact that the average candy bar (chocolate) has a number of bug parts (I can't remember the exact amount right now, but I'm thinking 8).

I'll never be able to eat food again...
