Innocence, something that our youth does not know anymore, amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
Honestly guys? Are they really that different than you were at that age? Aren't these the same things we get mad at older people are saying? (And I'm not some 12 year old by the way)

Innocence cannot kill desire.

This is stereotyping. Not all 'youth' are like how you're implying.

Sadly, most are. I'm 21, spent the weekend with an old family friends daughter who is 13. All she wanted to do was drink, and smoke cigs and weed. And the stories she told me... It makes me sad.

I bed to differ. I've been hearing some very frightening and sad stories going on at my old high school that absolutely were not going on when I was there '04-'08.
Society is changing. Drastically. Everywhere.

Well not everyone is a bad kid, I know a lot of people(including myself) who are in abstinence groups and don't drink/smoke/ do drugs. All the 'bad' kids get recognition, what about us?

I agree, I'm in year 11 at school so my year level is underage in terms of drinking, and I am one of a small relative number of people in my year level who hasn't had an alcoholic drink before. I think there is maybe 30 kids out of a year level of 180. Which I think is quite sad because really what are the benefits of drinking alcohol? I can tell you a lot of bad effects but I can't think of anything good.

Exactly, I work in a mall and see 9 year olds in shorts that barely cover their ass and enough make-up for a Lady Gaga show. 1. I wore more clothes than that when I was 9, hell I'm 19 and my ass still doesn't hang out of my clothes. 2. At 9, the most "make-up" I wore was chapstick.

I hope while you guys are complaining about how terrible we are, you remember who raised us.

S/he is right, remember who raised who..

I "no way"'d this because it's not stereotyped and most of today's youth is pretty nice, the more I think about it the more agree sadly enough. I'm only in middle school and several kids have got caught getting high, and apparently a girl at a different school is pregnant (I really hope that's not true.) According to my Social Studies teacher we were the nicest and most caring group of 7th graders she has had in a long time.
