+157 christianity is against gays, but the only people god (a male) lets get close to him in preisthood are men. sometimes i think we have gods message a little messed up. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

one: god is not a male, he is a being, people just say 'he' because the male ego has to have it self be dominate of the pack and who is more dominate than god, so theres that but hes not a male. and christianity isnt against gay people, cause your suppost to love your fellow man, but homosexuality by it self. god does not hate gay people, and anyone who says that is just another quack.

God loves the people just not their sin, and homosexuality is a sin; there's a ton of proof in the New Testament. Plus, God purposely made Eve for Adam

by Anonymous 14 years ago

you think they can help what they feel? homosexuality is not something you can choose. it's how you feel, the same as you liking the opposite gender. God loves everyone for who they are and he doesn't care if someone likes guys, girls, or turtles.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

acutally if u read the bible and know ur religion it says multiple times that homosexuality is wrong Christians don't take their religion seriously `

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you read anything you would know... 1) proper grammar 2) that St. Jimmy never said anything about being Christian. Don't assume that they are.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure is annoying when people say that there is "proof" of anything in the bible. The bible "proves" nothing. You should instead say that there is evidence to support this belief in the bible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God loves everyone and is not against homosexuality. At least not the all-accepting God I know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God is ins't against gays, he is just against acting upon it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why does God care if someone acts upon their gayness?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha idiot. He just killed a shitload of gays, but he doesn't hate them? Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, right

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Think of it this way: If God hated gay people, he wouldn't make them

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then answer me why gays can't get married if God doesn't hate them; if God doesn't hate two people who love each other, even if they are of the same gender?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe by making someone gay, he is actually calling them to a different vocation in their lives. Maybe He wants them to stay unmarried and to go join the priesthood or be a missionary or somthing. I also believe that He is teaching us to be accepting when he throws in some differences here and there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so you would be ok with having a gay priest? and i have a gay friend, and he cannot stop his attraction to other guys. he's tried and it hasn't worked and he's so beat up because he thinks he's going to hell. [not trying to argue.. i like discussing this topic]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd be 100% fine with having a gay priest. Or even a gay pope. Sure, homosexuals will not be able to stop being attracted to people of their gender, but that goes the same way with heterosexuals. Thats like saying that girls should be uncomfortable with straight priests because they might end up being attracted to them. So long as you don't act on the homosexual feelings, its not problem

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha, i'm not saying that you'd be uncomfortable b/c the priest would act on those feelings towards you, i'm saying it because manyyy christian/Catholics i know are VERY much homophobes, and would likely die to find out their priest was gay, simply because they feel that way towards men.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that last part should say "ANY man"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, yeah most Christians and Catholics are very against gays. I have a bit of a different view though. I think that its actually bad that most people in the Church are homophobes because it discourages gay people from joining churches and having a relationship with God.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is what i was talking about, not necessarily what YOU think, but what mostttt christians think. :P i understand there are christians who accept gays, but i know that the majority of them do not.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God doesn't make gay people. He makes people, and those people have the temptation of being gay. Everyone has their sin; be it stealing, or lieing, or worshiping other idols, we all have our cross to carry. So he doesn't hate the people for chosing to give into the temptation of being gay, but the sin itself. And the Bible tells us that there will never be a tempation we can not handle. And through God all things are possible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

loving God doesn't make you any gayer than loving your parents is incest. exactley. you aren't committing incest if you "love" your mother or father are you?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My message is not messed up =(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't understand a lot of these comments. If god is not a man or woman, shouldn't god be called it? And how does it make any sense that god can love someone but just not who they are? And how can you compare homosexuality to theft?! You can CHOOSE to steal things, being gay is not a temptation, it's about who you are attracted to. Straight peope can't help who they are attracted to- you're either attracted to a person or you aren't. So why would it be any different with gay people?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Ginger Snap): Being gay is not a temptation. I don't think it is a choice. But doing gay things is a temptation. God made Adam and Eve: a man and a woman to start the world. In the Bible in a few places it says something like "man shall not lie with man and woman shall not lie with woman." Sure, people are allowed to be gay. God loves everyone equally. He isn't going to dislike a person because they are gay. He will be dissappointed though if a person is tempted into acting on their gay feelings.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I appreciate you explaining that to me. I still have to respectfully disagree. But I'm glad I can understand where you're coming from now. :-)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I suggest you know your facts before you go around posting about false stuff...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just because Catholicism states that only priests can get close to God doesn't mean we all believe that. As a matter of fact, because Jesus came, common people don't need a priest in order to be able to get close to God. Get your facts straight, please?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ever heard of nuns?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just remember the Bible was written by man... Not your god... They could have addded things that they thought would sound good...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Definitely. Not to sound disrespectful here, but any person who has any knowledge of history and who is familiar with certain statements in the bible should be able to rationalize and see that there is no coincidence between these correlations. Example: An oversexed society where homosexuality runs rampant and unopposed by culture results in the spread of communicative diseases which cause harm to countless people + the introduction to the belief that homosexuality is a sin and that you will burn in Hell for acting upon such passions of the flesh = people stop banging each other out of fear... for thousands of years ... and then we all argue on the internet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Christianity isn't against gays. Prove me otherwise or I won't believe it. That lie that God hates gays is beyond falsee.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wow. man, that's not even true. catholics usually believe that, but not all christains. i'm a girl and i'm close to God. so get your facts straight, and stop telling lies.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Would someone choose to be a minority with little to no rights? People don't choose to be Gay, I think they are born that way. In my mind, God is loving and accepts everyone for who they are. He also accepts you for whatever religion, race, gender and anything that makes you unique.
