Haven't watched Captain Planet enough to know if this post is true. However, a literal army of hippies, an organized and armed group of people who opposed the war on Vietnam, may not have been a bad thing. The problem is that the hippies, instead of being provided with the tools needed to lead a revolution, were instead provided with LSD, a drug which was tested by the CIA for mind control in the 1950s.
