Why is there that little space inside strawberries, as if it was meant for a pit, and then the seeds are on the outside? Amirite?

You've never had pitted strawberries?

the red fleshy part of the strawberry which we consider the "fruit" is actually formed from the receptacle which the flower was on. The "true fruit" (portion formed out of the ovary/ovaries) of the strawberry is the little things on top which you call the "seeds".
