well, say, replying sarcastically to someone's misspelled comment. they know they're spelling it wrong, but it's to give a feel for the intended mood. to say that extra letters aren't needed, aren't NECESSARY, is stupid. are accent pillows on a couch NECESSARY? is a $300 gucci purse NEEDED? no, of course not. so why bother pointing it out? why not bitch at EVERY OTHER PERSON that ever misspelled a word for emphasis?
