Why's it matter? This is a new day and age where we have many ways to communicate with one another. I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask someone out through text, Facebook, MSN, etc.

You have alot to say about technology for a caveman

I think it removes the true estacy of asking someone out. Yeah it's convenient, but it's so much more meaningful to ask them in person or at least over the phone.
by Anonymous11 years ago
People still use MSN?
by Anonymous11 years ago
My friends and I still use it because we are not a fan of facebook chat.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Yeah I can see that. FB chat pretty much sucks.

If I were going to ask someone out it would be a lot less awkward and scary to ask someone out in a text based way, such as texting, messaging them on facebook, or even writing a note or something. And if I wouldn't be willing to ask someone out face to face, I don't think that a guy should be expected to.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Well I don't really like when people hide behind their computers to tell me stuff like that. If I have the guts to ask someone out in person they should too. But this might be a little bias since every single guy that has ever asked me out has done it over Facebook and text messages. Actually, one of them asked my friend to ask for him over Facebook. It was a bit of a turn off.

Its really not that hard to ask a girl out.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Once this guy asked me out over text, even though he was standing less than 5 feet away from me.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I'd prefer it over the computer because I'm better with my words online. If it was face to face I'd probably blurt out something I'd later regret. At least if it's online or through text I can think about what I'm going to say.

Yes. All men should be obligated to make the first move. Just as all women should be payed less. Because neither one of these are sexist, right? Oh wait.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I really don't see anything wrong with your comment
by Anonymous11 years ago
Not all girls wait for the guy to make the first move. I've asked guys out before.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Thank you. You are among the elite of your gender. I wasn't saying all girls wait, just that those who do are being moronic.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Sometimes there aren't really any other options. I'm assuming you mean ask out like, "Hey we should hang out." and not something like, "Do you wanna be my girlfriend?" The former I would see as acceptable because if they aren't someone you'd usually see in person, then you may not ever have an opportunity to ask them out.
Oh and how about some of the ladies hiding behind their double standards try it out sometime?
