Unfortunately, amirite is not an accurate representation of the general public. Most people who visit this site are teenagers, who are generally more liberal than their parents, and everyone on this site is wealthy enough to have access to a computer; wealthier people are normally more educated than lower-class people and are therefore generally more accepting of gay people.

No, but polls have shown that lower-class people are more homophobic, while educated people tend to be kore accepting. Think about it: How much acceptance is there going to be in a ghetto?

That may be true, but higher incomes also tend to vote Republican and lower income vote Democrat so it would actually be the lower income people voting in the politicians in favor of gay rights.

This post kinda cracked me up. Amirite is not even CLOSE to a good representation of the general public. Half the people I see on here are 13 year olds paranoid about government power.... okay maybe not half... but come on....

I was thinking just about the same thing. There are maybe 8,000 people at most on this site since about 4,000 are fans on facebook. Most of the people on here are liberal as well. This is definitely not a good representation of the public. Plus, most are teenagers as well that do not know anything about politics.
