+483 Why can't people taking your order pay more attention? "Would you like it toasted?" "Yes." // Ten seconds later, "Did you say not toasted?" "No." // Twenty seconds later, "Toasted?" "Yes." ... amirite?

when the customer just starts talking and mentions like 6 things while ur trying to enter the first it's hard to remember if they wanted the 3rd thing toasted.

ok i work in a resturant and its hard when everything is getting spat at you

When you work somewhere like this you hear "toasted" or "not toasted" about 50 times a day. It's easy to forget which the last customer said when you are following such a repetitive routine.

agreed with all of the above. OP i don't mean to be a downer on your post but i worked at mcdonald's and taking orders was one of the hardest things, especially since the volume on the headsets were awful. people talk so quickly when ordering, they forget the people on the other side have to punch all this stuff in as fast as they talk if you don't realize this though, i understand where you're coming from :)

it is really hard to enter everything in the computer where I work, customers talk so fast, so instead of messing up there order, I think it's better that we verifiy it.

Frankly, customers don't seem to get how hard it is to get everything down. We have to hand write our tickets and even with shorthand it's HARD to keep up. So sorry, if I repeat something when I'm taking your order, it's because I want your food to be correct.

I work in fast food, and it's really hard to take in what the customer is saying when you're trying to punch in what they just previously said into the register. Plus, having two consecutive customers order the same thing with different modifications gets a little confusing.

Why dont you stand at a table with 3 kids 2 adults. The adults are arguing over what "deal" or "special" to get while one kid is pulling on your apron, the other one is screaming at you CHICKEN TENDERS and the last kid is crying. Sorry not hearing you say "toasted" was so hard to do.
