+82 State capitals should just be in the biggest city in the state, enough of this Harrisburg, Jefferson City, Annapolis, Springfield, and Salem crap, amirite?

I was about to agree, but then I realized that I really don't want Detroit to be my state capital.

24/50 state capitals are also the largest city. fun fact. but alot of capitals are historic, and were once the largest city, or have other reason. After taking the Illinois Constitution Test in 8th grade, i know Springfield was chosen for its central location, as both the north and south were equally populous at that time

Philadelphia is plenty historic in my opinion. I've never been on a field trip to Harrisburg.

I was just about to say that about Portland. Salem is a great capital. Central. Not too big or busy or too much crime or things like that.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, I love the shit out of Portland, but it just wouldn't be good as the capitol.

I'm glad the capital of Oklahoma is Oklahoma City. Easy peasy.

I actually think it's more lemon squeezy

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Jeff City is the capital, because it's in the middle of the state. :D
