+421 It's not right that the ugly girls in movies mostly have curly hair, and then when they get a makeover they straighten their hair, and then everyone thinks they're all gorgeous, when really curly hair is pretty too. amirite?

Literally the only movie I have ever seen that in is the Princess Diaries. it's not exactly a trope. unlike the whole "glasses and ponytail" thing

I agree. I completely hate that. I have BEAUTIFUL brown curly hair and movies & shows like that make me feel ugly.

I know. I straighten my hair most days but on the days when I do wear it in its natural curls I get the most compliments on it.

I thought they curled it... I think I've seen that at least once, anyway. And in the music video for Last Friday Night, she ends up with *really* curly hair. I think people just change their hair to the opposite of whatever it is, and then it's more like people like it more because it's different from normal.

My friend has really pretty curly hair, but she hates it so much 'cause it looks "messy and big." It looks real neat and awesome and I'd love to have it. My hair is weird and straight at top than all fizzy at the bottom. I guess I can classify it as wavy, but its wavier in random places...if that makes sense. Oh, and it will not straighten or curl.
