+437 A typed 10 page, single spaced book report and a 20 page Geometry review packet is too much summer work for an eighth grader, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Any type of homework during the summer is considered too much homework!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wish I got homework so I actually have something to do. v.v Hah, I'd do it for you. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

30 pages over 90 days. 1/3 of a page per day.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

basic math ftw

by Anonymous 12 years ago

10 page, single spaced? Good Lord! Did they specify font size? But the Geometry isn't that bad, as it's something you have to remember for next year, unlike the book report. And teachers feel like they have to give you something because you're going into high school (which is fucking bullshit).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why do you have homework over the summer? do you have summer school or something

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You've never heard of summer assignments for upcoming classes?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No we don't have that where I'm from we get the whole summer free

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lucky bitch.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Like who do you give the homework to? Do you get graded for it and stuff? Just so weird to think about

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Your teacher gives it to you at the end of the year and your teacher for the same subject area next year takes it up.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What if you don't take the subject again, like in grade 12 we just take english and electives

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The teachers talk to each other...they know what subjects they can give summer hw in and which they cant

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I get summer work from the teachers of the course I'm about to take. It's like a pre-course thing, preparing us for their class.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Weird but I guess it helps

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've never had summer homework either. But all teachers at my school get moved around during the summer so I like never have the same teacher twice!!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I used to get a ton of math homework over the summer so the geometry packet doesn't seem too bad, but that book report is just ridiculous.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is why I'm glad I didn't go to school in America. We barely got any weekend homework(Get it Friday for Monday), nevermind holiday homework.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I like how the intro is a third of the video.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why don't you spend less time complaining on here and actually do it?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lol 8th graders.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lol when I was in 8th grade all I had to do was read a book. @OP: Why u no has pics for me to creep on??

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Geometry in 8th grade!? eesh, in my school, the advanced kids take geometry freshman year

by Anonymous 12 years ago

same

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My school had three levels, 8, 8A, and zero period geometry for the freaky genius kids. I'm freshmen, in geometry now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

At my school, we do basic geometry from year 7. Sometimes even earlier.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

basic geometry, like area and volume and shit, yeah. we do that in elementary school, but the proofs and theorems we do in high school

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1st-4th grade i had a 90-page packet of all subjects to complete over the summer. it was a NIGHTMARE. in 2nd grade my mom bought the second harry potter book, which had just come out, & told me i couldn't read it until i finished my summer homework. i got that shit done REALLY fast.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

90 pages? In elementary school? Wtf?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow. I had stuff sorta like that, but it was 1/3 the length, optional, and they had the answer key for "parents" to "check" their kids' "work". My mom still made me do it, of course.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In middle school I had to read a book and a do a 20 page math review packet. Never in my life have I finished either of those

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you've never finished a book?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I've finished plenty of books. In the summer I procrastinate so bad that I never wound up finishing the summer reading or math packets.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ohh okay your first comment was worded weirdly.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Aaah I see my mistake. I shouldve put the words "in the summer" somewhere in there

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Simple solution: apply font size of 72.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Based on your post, I am guessing your American Honestly, we are being crushed academically by the world. We need more summer work, like maybe even a six week summer break and other changes to the American educational system.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

*you're

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, you had it right the first time.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

kay, sorry. I didn't see the second one. I was just trying to help.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Second your.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not from America, and I think it's so amazing that you get such long summer breaks! We only get them for 6 weeks.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Fuck you.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That is ridiculous... I had to read 3 books for honors English, and 3 books (and a report for each one) for AP euro, but that's because they were, well, honors classes, and it was for sophomore year. I definitely never had that much in 8th grade.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's stupid how honors classes mean that the kids get a fuckton more work. They should get less, because they're smarter, and understand whatever's being taught better.
