+321 Everyone should have some meat on their bones, not too much and not too little, just enough to look and be healthy, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Here's a tip though: Most skinny people are just naturally skinny even though they eat like everyone else. Telling them to have a cheeseburger is just dumb, not everyone's anorexic.

Beat me to it...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And it's always awkward when people say that to you. What do I say back? "Oh, uh, thanks?"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha I agree. I always feel like slapping them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nobody said to eat a cheeseburger. People with a high metabolism will be naturally skinny, yes. But if their weight is unhealthy they should get help, like with a doctor or dietitian (the same as someone overweight should).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh yes, I completely agree. But, anyone who is very skinny like myself, whether they're actually unhealthy or just thin, can tell you that every once in a while someone will say "Geez, you're so thin, go eat a cheeseburger!" thinking they're clever. They're not. Or, in the case of crazy, old Puerto Rican men in the CVS checkout line, being skinny means your dad isn't a good provider.

Yeah, people will always get made fun of for appearance. It's stupid. I'm sure you're as healthy as the next person.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Except it's not really being made fun of. It's more like people believe everyone who's skinny is skinny because they don't eat enough.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah. It's still pointing out something that could be a touchy subject. I mean, it's the same as people assuming that a chubby person is chubby because they eat too much (which also isn't always true).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, some people are just ignorant. Ah well, that means they're not going places in the long run

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Too true. We should try our best to be healthy, it's that simple.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really? Cuz people make fun of me for being skinny. Im 5ft 2 and 97 lbs and apparently I'm supposed to weigh 104, so I'm not even that underweight. I get called skelator a lot. And twig.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, I get that too but most of the time, for met at least, it's light hearted and joking in nature. It's probably a sensitive topic for you, as weight is for most people, but just tell them that when everyone's metabolism slows down when they're like 35, you'll have a normal metabolism while they'll all be overweight.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nope I'll still have a faster than normal metabolism if I keep taking after my mom, shes an inch taller than me and 3 lbs less.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant they're all like: "Eat more rice! You're too skinny!"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I kinda prefer people who have a little meat on them, though I myself am tiny. It just gives me more to hug. I HATE hugging skinny people.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I love hugging everyone. I don't discriminate :]

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll hug them...But I won't enjoy it. *insert upset expression here*

I'd say stop worrying about the actual fat, or lack of, on your body, and just be concerned about general health. Some people are naturally large/curvy/chubby, some people are naturally thin/slender - but eating a proper diet and regular exercise will put you into your normal weight range.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Everyone should quit saying what everyone else should look like.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think as long as you eat relatively well, excersise a couple of times a week and you are generally happy and healthy, it shouldn't matter what the hell your body shape it is, because it is yours, not society's.
