+87 You know those people that say "Give me _____," or "I want ____" when ordering food? I want to kill them, amirite?

How do I order then?

May I please have......

It annoys me when people don't bother to say 'please'.

You're paying for it. It's not like it's just a random meal at some random person's house that you aren't paying for it. As long as you aren't rude about it I see no problem with say either of those.

I don't see what's so rude about saying "I want" if you're saying it in a nice tone."Give me" is a different story though

This makes me nervous about eating out, because I can't remember what I say... I don't mean to say anything rude. :o I think I say "Can I get ___?" and then if they say yes, then I say thanks. If they say no, I say (in my head) "oh shit oh shit, pick something else, quick!" I hope this is acceptable..
