but the Mayans were from a long time ago, and the calender was made at the start of the civilization. ya actually, i would say that calender is very long

I hate when people say it's gonna end in that year just because of that calender. Maybe they just got tired of writing years down. If I were to make a calender, I'd probably get bored around a whole millennium into the future, too

and actually, the mayan calendar had less days in the year. so if we went by their count, we are already past 2012.

Well, first of, the Mayans made that calender a good 3000 years ago. I'm not saying I am believer, But we have to admit that the Mayans were extremely accurate with their predictions.

All I'm saying is that it's a circular calender and last time I checked, circular calenders don't end, the mayan calender is meant to keep going, that's one of the reasons it's so famous.

The calendar doesn't end in 2012, the current age does. I don't know who decided the world was going to end in 2012, because the Mayans didn't. They merely predicted that the current age of the long count calendar will end in 2012. So, the world won't end, it will just transition into the next age. And that means we get to throw the most kickass new years party ever!!!
