If you were born on say January 15, 2000, you would actually be 11 years old, not 10. amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
you really would cuz you would have turned 11 on january 15th!!! tehe i figured it out XP
by Anonymous14 years ago
no you wouldn't in 2001 you turn 1 2002 you turn 2 and so on
by Anonymous14 years ago
no, because on January 16, 2001, you would be 366 days old. One year is 365 days, so you would be 2 years old.
by Anonymous14 years ago
ah no thats not how it works idiot
by Anonymous14 years ago
you would be 1 year and 1 day old.
by Anonymous14 years ago
People as dumb as you make me want shoot myself. Actually, my life is too precious, I'll shoot the OP instead
by Anonymous14 years ago
you are retarded
by Anonymous14 years ago
I don't get it.
by Anonymous14 years ago
*Facepalm*
by Anonymous14 years ago
:l. why the facepalm?
by Anonymous14 years ago
i'm still pretty lost about what this post has to do with anything at all. that's all.
by Anonymous14 years ago
You don't get it because they're wrong. Don't feel stupid for trying to understand the OP, they're the ones that have to go back to elementary school.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Hahah, thanks.
by Anonymous14 years ago
*facepalm*
by Anonymous14 years ago
How does crap like this make it to the homepage >.<
by Anonymous14 years ago
People want to see all the insults and *facepalms* it gets. xD
by Anonymous14 years ago
Seriously, the kid would be 10 douche.
by Anonymous14 years ago
If you think about it they would be 11. Jan 15th 2010 would signify that person living for ten years and from that moment forward they are living their 11th year.
by Anonymous14 years ago
In their 11th year of living but not 11 years old. If that makes sense. Number of years completed.
by Anonymous14 years ago
People as awesome as us aren't allowed to disagree with eachother. :D
by Anonymous14 years ago
You're right. You're completely right about everything you've ever said ever <333333
by Anonymous14 years ago
don't you do that to me woman!!
by Anonymous14 years ago
But they haven't lived for eleven years.
by Anonymous14 years ago
It doesn't matter. That person has already lived 10 years and has moved on to their 11th year. I've thought that way for quite some time.
by Anonymous14 years ago
It does matter, you have to live for 11 years to be 11 years old, that's the idea.
by Anonymous14 years ago
That's your idea. I see it differently.
by Anonymous14 years ago
That's nice.
by Anonymous14 years ago
@316798 (Sockem_Bopper): @316798 (Sockem_Bopper):
then you, sir, are just a fricking retard
by Anonymous14 years ago
If questioning the way things are viewed and trying to see it from a different perspective makes me a "fricking retard" than so be it.
by Anonymous14 years ago
would you consider a newborn child one year old because it's their first year?
by Anonymous14 years ago
ur 11 years old when ur done living 10 years.
by Anonymous14 years ago
When you've lived for 10 years, that means that you are 10 years old, because ten years means ten years, and not eleven years, but ten years.
by Anonymous14 years ago
it doesnt matter if thats how you think. you cant change the fact that your age is the amount of full years you have been alive, and not which year you are currently in
by Anonymous14 years ago
It does matter if that is how I think, because all the other arguments mean nothing to me. I am living my 21st year right now, and my birthday is just the celebration of
by Anonymous14 years ago
all of the things that took place in that year.
by Anonymous14 years ago
try telling the bartender you're 21 cuz you're in your 21st year and see how many drinks you get :]
by Anonymous14 years ago
I'm in Vegas dear, getting drinks is quite easy no matter what age you are.
by Anonymous14 years ago
but you miss my point, which is that when we disagree with the interpretation of the law, the law tends to win.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I don't see why people can't just get over the fact that I see it different and making it seem like I'm talking about Christianity being a lie or something along those lines.
by Anonymous14 years ago
i guess on a site called amirite we just love a good argument :]
by Anonymous14 years ago
There are good arguments and there is what happened here. :/ I get what everyone else is trying to say though.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I get what you say but that's not really how it works...
But what you said DOES work in the centuries (e.g, we're in the 21st century, but there haven't been 21 COMPLETE centuries [since they started counting I mean])
So... yeah
by Anonymous14 years ago
So that just brings up the question why it applies to centuries but not years? They are both measure the same thing.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Well, I guess it's because we say we're IN the 21st century, because saying we're 20 centuries from Jesus' birth would be too long.
But it's easier to say I am 174 years old, than I'm in my 175th year.
Or I don't know...
by Anonymous14 years ago
Ahh, but, as yddraigarian said, you are still only legally 20, therefore you're interpretation of age doesn't matter because, by law, you are 20, you get to experience what 20 year olds can, but you can't legally do things that 21 year olds can, such as drinking.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I'm not adressing it as far as legalities are concerned. I'm approaching it from how we measure time. I'm sure I said that wrong, but I think you get the point.
by Anonymous14 years ago
But, still in that case you are wrong. How we typically measure time is by full years, you're not 11 until you're 11th year is over. Even if you are on you're 11th year, you're not 11.
by Anonymous14 years ago
That is what I'm saying. Man determined that it should be counted that way without question, without looking in to how else time could be measured or viewed.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I see your point, I thought you were the OP for a second because you seem to be arguing this more than (s)he. I was saying the post was wrong because they would not be 11, they would be working on their 11th year.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I don't post anonymously really and if I did it'd be better than this. :D
by Anonymous14 years ago
Haha :) I just didn't read the actually name of the poster, I just assumed it was you because you were the one arguing for it, but you know what they say when you assume XD
by Anonymous14 years ago
An angel gets its wings?
by Anonymous14 years ago
Haha no, when you ASSuME (did that on purpose) you make an ASS out of u ( also done on purpose) and ME. :D
by Anonymous14 years ago
I enjoy being a smartass. :D
by Anonymous14 years ago
wait but for driving u have to b on ur 15th year of life..not finish ur 15th year...
by Anonymous14 years ago
For us it's you have to have already had you're 16th birthday for your permit, and 17th before you can drive. I think you might be getting confused with what we're saying as "on your 15th year" we're saying that to be on your 15th year, you have to be working on your 15th year and that time takes place the day after your 14th to the day of the 15th.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Hmm, I do agree with you there,
by Anonymous14 years ago
If I was born yesterday, I would have posted this.
by Anonymous14 years ago
January 15th in my birthday!!! But I'm not ten or eleven sooo yeah...
by Anonymous14 years ago
*facepalm* that this actually made it to the homepage
*double-facepalm* that otherwise intelligent amiriters are arguing about it.
by Anonymous14 years ago
*triple faceplam* people that argue about this kinda crap are not intelligent.
by Anonymous14 years ago
hahaha good point (:
by Anonymous14 years ago
You would be 10.
10 full revolutions around the sun.
10 years.
/end
by Anonymous14 years ago
Why doesn't anyone agree...am I missing something here?
by Anonymous14 years ago
LOL, SCHOOLING?
by Anonymous14 years ago
Oh shit nevermind. Ok I'm braindead.
by Anonymous14 years ago
its okay...
by Anonymous14 years ago
Let's break it down for those idiots:
Born Jan 15th 2000
Jan 15th 2001: 1 year old
Jan 15th 2002: 2 years old
Jan 15th 2003: 3 years old
Jan 15th 2004: 4 years old
Jan 15th 2005: 5 years old
Jan 15th 2006: 6 years old
Jan 15th 2007: 7 years old
Jan 15th 2008: 8 years old
Jan 15th 2009: 9 years old
Jan 15th 2010: 10 years old
And for extra measure:
Jan 15th 2011: 11 years old.
Get it?
by Anonymous14 years ago
you have 10 fingers how the hell could you not figure that one out
by Anonymous14 years ago
Well i have to say this has been very entertaining to read! Thanks :)
by Anonymous14 years ago

by Anonymous14 years ago

by Anonymous14 years ago
Facepalm isn't enough to explain this.
*facedesk*
by Anonymous14 years ago
Ugh this made me think.
My brain hurts now.
by Anonymous14 years ago
This is without a doubt the most pointless debate I have ver witnessed on this site. Wow.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Wow this is a stupid post, cuz they would be WORKING to get to their 11th year but would be 10 complete years and whatever months so its 10yrs
by Anonymous14 years ago
oh dear
by Anonymous14 years ago
Holy fucking shit people are so stupid....and no offense, but some of you thought about it so hard that your brain hurts? Oh my god people. This just kinda made my day cuz it made me laugh really hard.
by Anonymous14 years ago
if this person was born in 2000 it wouldnt matter what month or day it is! they would still be ten
by Anonymous14 years ago
They would be ten and a half, which is the same as being ten.
by Anonymous14 years ago
uh, how does that work?
by Anonymous14 years ago
guys stfu in some countries/places they view it as the year you are living in, it just depends on your location and viewpoint
