Hugo Boss

Hugo means "intelligent", he's supposed to take after his mother, (even though warner bros. made Rose look like the brainy one and Hugo seem more like Ron). Also his name starts with H just as Hermione. and Rose starts with R just as Ron.

so why Rose?

I thougt it was just because Ron had always had a crush on Madame Rosemerta.

I don't recall the book saying anything about Hugo's intelligence. Ron said Rose had Hermione's brains, but no indication was made that Hugo was smart too.

The better question is, why didn't Giny get any input in the names of her kids? Every single one is named either after Dumbledore/Snape or Harry's parents, why couldn't just one of them be named Fred or Molly or Arthur?

Ginny probably had a lot of respect for Dumbledore and Snape, so it could just as well have been her suggestion. It's also entirely possible that she just liked those names, or couldn't think of any she liked.

Couldn't think of any...? Blockhead, how familiar are you with the female species?

**__she liked__**. as in better than the ones Harry thought up. And not very, actually. I've been in only boys schools since I was 6, and have only had real life contact with one girl since then, and she's just a friend.
