+607 Why do people always assume that only British people spell things with a "u". Australians do too, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So do Canadians. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We're so left out :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Inorite? :<

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why does everyone always tease Canadians too? They are awesome

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We really are. D: Saying 'eh' is totally sick, AND we spell stuff the less-lazy way. I'd say we win. :>

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha :) Aussie's are totally opposite, we're too lazy we can't even say our own countries name without making it shortened :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bahaha, I love Australian accents though, everything about the country seems so slack, like, everyone says Aussies and Brits have the same accents, but Aussies definitely sound more laid back, in my opinion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha it's awesome isn't it? We are very slack. Especially when it's hot, no one does anyway ;) And Canadian accents confuse me and I can't understand it properly hahah. Also, do you speak French? Because that's totally cool too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, Canadian accents sound like American accents to me. :P And no, I don't. I know a bit, but I moved to India 3 years into studying it, so I've forgotten a lot of stuff. Although, I get it mixed up with Tamil every so often. P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha India, awesome. Multilingual? That's very cool ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, I'm really not that good. :P I'm quite fail actually. :$

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Better than not being able to speak it at all :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True enough. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There's Canadian accents?? :o

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha we're so slack that in Western Australia the shops are only open from like 8-6pm, and are closed on sundays most the time :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's true Aussie's for ya :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So in an Australian's opinion and a Canadian's, do American's have accents or is there no accent? I've always wondered this :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ehhh Americans and Canadians sounds a lot a like to me but some times they do have accents. like when i was in Boston i could hardly understand half the people i talked too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I see :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Everyone has accents. Some Americans have very strong accents haha, but I guess it's normal for you guys. Like I don't think Australians have accents, it's just normal to hear it. But people say all the time that Australians do have a strong accent haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha yeah definitely. I guess it's the same, cause some Australians have very strong and some are subtle :) i've always wondered if we had accents! on ellen, daniel radcliffe was on and he did an American accent so it got me thinking

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It depends if you're talkign about the steriotype accent or our actually accent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the US is the only English speaking nation that doesn't. I guess we just get to make up the words as we go along.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you! For acknowledging English speaking countries other than America, England and Australia. You don't necessarily have to be white to speak good English =)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Irish people do as well. Colour, favourite. See?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

&& Canadians.. I don't know why we still have the queen....noooooooobody gives a fuck about the queen.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I Love Being British :) But I Would Lurve To Be Canadian, Half My Family Is :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Aussies and Brits have the coolest accents. This is coming from a Canadian (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well the british are the ones who created the language. The American just like the make every thing thier own

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And canadians

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Canadians spell things with a "u" too =]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

South Africans and other African countries that speak english do too

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cause we're Americans and we can do or think whatever the fuck we want! Cause we're the baddest country on the fuckin plant bitch!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

plant?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its actually pretty much every English speaking country other than America. The US is really quite different from Canada, Australia, England, etc. In many ways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And New Zealanders too!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just about to say that . . .

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Australia all the way :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Australians put u in their words like the british because the british dumped all of their law breakers in australia in the 17 and 1800s so australians are originally british

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Americans just have to be different all the time. Why? Well, because they're American.
