+1,602 My friend is a dumb-ass for wanting to serve in Iraq because of Call of Duty, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All the power to him. Just tell him there aren't any do-overs if he loses.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah i told him, "Iraq is like Search and Destroy cuz you only got one life" but i dont know if my nerdy analogy had an effect

haha well I personally don't play the video game but my older brother did. He's now a marine. I can't help but feel those games are somewhat responsible. But hey, if they're not wise enough to realize life isn't a game, all of the consequences are their fault.

Dumb ass...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not a dumbass, its driving him to do something positive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But doing it because of a video game is fucking stupid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not really. Sure you have to understand that real life is nothing like a video game. But you wanna sign up for the military because you like call of duty? Go ahead, just realize you're in for a shitload of work, and you don't respawn.

He's not a dumbass for wanting to serve. Good for him, making his country proud. He IS a dumbass though because he's basing his desire off of a video game.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But it never said anything about him wanting to serve his country. Just that he wants to because of the game... Just sayin'.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Right, I know that. I'm just saying that at least he's doing. Most Americans won't get up off their asses to do it. Regardless of the fact that his desire was fueled by a stupid video game, he's doing things that most others wouldn't. Just sayin'.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

T.T Well I'm sure they like the thought of supporting their country, but not the fact that they can possibly die or the fact that they could come back and be haunted by things they have seen in war.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um, Depends, What came first his desire to serve or the video game? Did he pick up the game because he was always interested being in the military?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, he's a smart fellow. Well maybe he deserves whatever is to come, because he got what he wished for.

I don't care where troops get their motivation from, if you don't want to stand behind our them, go stand in front of them. They're heroes, you have to remember.

he is a deluded warmongering fool. go to iraq and volunteer in a children's hospital ward and spend time with the victims of your war crimes .
