People who complain about getting an A- are insanely annoying, amirite?

At my school, an A- lowers your GPA, and some kids want to get into Ivy League/high-ranked private schools that have very competitive applicants.

I think it's fine if your goals are that high, but it's annoying when they're really vocal about it and complain about it constantly to people that don't do as well.

I agree that it's annoying if they're complaining, but it's okay to not be satisfied with an A-. Some people are really intense about school and stuff, so they're not happy with anything below 95%

There's one kid in my class that whines if he gets a 97 on a test.

The only time I complained about an A- was in math when we had to COLOR SOMETHING. I asked my teacher why and she said it was because she could tell I didn't put the same amount of effort in as other people. I was so mad

That's insanely unfair... unless, of course, you only put vague strokes of color here and there.

Nah, I did more than that. I think she was just taking a crack at my artistic ability, or lack thereof.

I had this one friend who consistently got very high grades (like, his lowest grade in any class was a 97%). He studied his ass off for the finals because he didn't want to do horribly (read 'C') on the finals. 90% was an 'A' at my school. Finals were 11% of the final grade.
Kid's going off to med school next year, so whatevs.

It depends on why they're complaining, I think. "Oh, I was so close to an A!" is different from ""OMG I DID SO BAD!"

You could say they're A-nnoying

If it's an assignment where it's supposed to be easy to get an A or an A+, an A- would be very annoying. I would be annoyed if I got an A- on current events or something.

It lowers the gpa if it's your class grade. Some people are more competitive, and I would say that's a good thing.
