+736 Being born in the 90's doesn't automatically make you a 90's kid. You have to have actually grown up during the 90's and have a bunch of concrete memories of the 90's to be a 90's kid, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. I was actually born in 1990. So I remember a shit ton from the 90's. Being born in 1997 or something like that is definitely not the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What if you were born in 96 but remember everything about the nineties?? Cuz I remember watching pokémon and digimon and all those shows :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But if you were born in 96 you are automatically only able to remember less than half of the nineties.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not if you had two brothers who told you and showed you everything from before....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmmm... It's not really the same, is it though? :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But that doesn't really make a difference. They are 90's kids. They helped show you what it was like, but you didn't really experience it firsthand. Get what I'm saying?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yah I do, but I wanna be a 90s kid! Not that I am saying I am, I just want to be!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But why? Does it really matter?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes because my generations of kids are freaking idiots. I don't like them at all :( at least the ones at my school

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't really think times have changed that much everyone at my school were idiots as well. Caring too much about which decade you "belong to" is like being really into astrology.(I hope you don't like astrology...)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't care about astrology. I don't know, I guess I am a Montoya kid... But like not. I am on the brink of being a ninties kid I think :p

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some distance away from the brink I'd say, but okay. Oh by the way the first part of my comment doesn't really make sense unless I mention that I'm from 92 (not much older but still).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

1996 is definitely not a 90's kid. I'm 1994 and I don't consider myself to be a 90's kid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But I wanna be a 90s kid :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, like I'm 1992, but I'm just as much a 2000's kid as a 90's kid, if not a little bit more.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

1994 FTW!!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Class of 2012: Tough enough to survive the end of the world.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well actually, historians have calculated they may have been off about the end of the Mayan calender by 50 to 100 years. Sorry I killed the joke but that is good news.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, but it's not like anyone took it seriously anyways. It's the only goodish slogan I've heard so far.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea I never believed it. So far the only doomsday theory that is confirmed is in billions of years when the Sun eats the inner planets, that for sure is the end of Earth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah that would work except the world doesn't supposidly end until december of 2012 so it would only work for 2013.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True, but where does the line go? When exactly do you go from being a 80's to a 90's kid, or a 90's to a 00's kid, because I really wouldn't know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think that an 80's kid is someone remembers the 80's+90's, and a 90's is just all of the 90's. If you were born from 90's-96 I still think that's like being a 90's kid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

As I said, I wouldn't know for sure, but someone born in 96 is just not a nineties kid. If I'd have to take a guess; I think I'd say someone born between 1982 and 1992.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My baddd

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most of the "90's" memories are actually early 00's or late LATE 90's

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This. I was born in October of '94, so I don't remember '95, '96, or '97. Most of my memories were '98, '99, '00 and so on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was born in '95 and remember the 90's... so... does that make me a 90's kid or... what? I'm having a bit of an identity crisis now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you're fifteen, you probably remember a good amount, just not as much as someone born in '93 and before. Either way, I'd say you were a "90's kid".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Identity crisis resolved! :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Glad I could help!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was born in '95. I remember those lurid-colored jackets, snap-bracelets, those music things that you stuck in your ear[what were they called? I had like, 5 Britney songs], Pokemon, Digimon, Gameboy Color... Am I considered a "90s kid"?? I, too, am having an identity crisis, Adrii.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was born in '94 and what ear thing are you talking about?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

HIT-CLIPS!!! i loved that thing!! i had a bunch in second grade, if that's what you're talking about. but i was a second grader in '03, i think, so would that not count? i was born in '96 and i remember shit tons of 90's stuff. i watched pokemon and had troll dolls and snap bracelets, and my favorite shows were doug and angry beavers and all those other ones.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I remember everything you are talking about BUT the hit clips or what ever.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, i figured that wasn't it. they were stupid anyway. they played about 30 seconds of a popular song at the time.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ahaha yes! Hit-clips! I had one in the shape of a small stereo. I loved it! @712264 - I think they came with Happy Meals at one point. They were about the size of your first thumb joint and they had one earphone and you sort of clipped it to your ear. You had little chips that you put in and out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

At least I'm not alone. D: I remember all those things, too. I miss them. Especially the Hit-clips. xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you! I was born in '94 and don't really think of myself as a 90's kid. It's really annoying when some kid from '99 acts like they experienced so much more than a kid from '00.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm a 99 kid. (Yeah, really.) But my older brother and sister showed me SO MANY re-runs, I have seen all the good shows. Dexters Labratory, Hey Arnold!, Catdog, Pokémon, Rugrats, etc. I wish I was a '90s kid, but I'm just a '90s baby. :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Right. 90's baby is a better term.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're the first person who hasn't called me out for being 11. Thanks! :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol It's not your fault you're eleven :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Excactly. One person said I shouldn't be allowed to use the Internet until I was 13. Psssh, that's not going to happen!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its annoying when people call someone out for their age...happened to me when I was 12.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My Sister is born February 10th 1999 and she says she'd rather be born in the 00s instead of the 90s because she's like "Have you ever heard of that song that goes like 'I'm so 3008 your 200-and late, I got that rock and roll, that future flow.'" I'm born in March 3rd 1990 and I do remember a lot but I would much rather be born in the 00s, I just can't live in a generation without IPhone's and Samsungs and well, TECHNOLOGY! I was born in the first year of the 90s and it wasn't as great as people are saying, their just over exaggerating. And it's been proven that 1999 was the best year so far in history. Look it up. I don't now about you but I would want to be born in the best year in history.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

90's was not just about Pokemon and gameboys. It was Aqua, fluro hats with back flaps, flowery leggings, big jackets, bad hair, scooters and brightly coloured bikes, Tape deck players...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yep, pretty much everyone who's mentioning Pokemon is faking it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Razor scooters? I remember those. Flowery leggings? I had so many. They were my favorite. And when I hear "big jackets", I think of the ones with the weirdest colors. Some were like, hot pink with teal and yellow and a semi-water-resistant material. And tape deck players... I think I had one in my house. They sound [and look, according to Google] familiar.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're trying too hard. No offense or anything, but someone born in 1995 couldn't remember those things unless their house was a time capsule. Some of that stuff is more 2000's anyways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I actually have a pretty damn good memory. Well, considering I was a toddler, it was pretty good. And you remember certain things when you're in a certain mood. If you're sad, you can't think of anything happy, and vice versa. So that could be it, too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You would be a prodigy if you actually had memories that vivid from when you're 2-4 years old. And even if you do, that still means that you can recall things from '97 or '98 onwards, which is a fraction of the decade. But whatevs, I'm not going to get into an argument over something as petty as this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not going to lie: I actually vividly remember a dream from when I was 3 years old. I was in some weird daycare and somebody was putting an ash on my hand and I cried to my mom, "MOMMY! I'M ON FIRE!" and she didn't do anything about it. Yeah, I remember a lot of weird stuff.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

RAZOR SCOOTERS! I became a beast at those and lost all my skills.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was able to do the bunny hop, only. But that wasn't in the 90s. I think that was 02-03.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm.., I'm 93 do I count?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe so.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pokemon is late 90's at best. I was born in 90 so I pretty much remember the majority of the decade. From muppet babies to jelly shoes and hit clips the spice girls, the original power rangers, ren and stimpy...ect.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

JELLY SHOES!! Only the best part of the 90's.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Muppet Babies! One of my favs when I was little and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Before it was a crappy movie it was an awesome cartoon. And can't forget the Jellys.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why do kids want be a "90's Kid" so much? o.o Who cares...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

seriously :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I HAVE AN IDEA! Who gives a fuck? :3 Call me whatever you want, but people who actually try to make specific rules and requirements in order to BE whatever clique they happen to be flaunting for are just pathetic. At least that's what I'm gathering from the comments.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, I agree. There's no real point in trying to make and bend rules to be a 90s kid. It's just a way for some people to try to feel more important than other people, because we haven't been out of the 2000 decade long enough for "2000's Kids."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Am I the only one who remembers the 80s/90s, not just for Pokemon, Slap Bracelets, etc., but for the friends he/she had in the 90s?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry to leave some people out. Basically, what I'm going at with 80s/90s is the times between when you were 6 and when you were 12 (or if you're a youngun, perhaps younger).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So it goes nineties to noughties, but what to you call the decade of 2010-2019?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think that we're actually calling this decade the "noughties".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

TENDIES!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rosie O' Donell used the be the Ellen Degeneres (sp?) of day time TV.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YES!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The memory areas of your brain aren't fully developed until 3-4 years old. Of course that's just the norm, there are plenty of exceptions, but based on that I guess you could say "true" 90s kids would be born in '95/6ish at the latest.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This argument is annoying as hell. I wish people would get over it. It's not like this generation is anything to be proud of for the most part anyways. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thank you '92

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was born in '96. I guess that doesn't make me a 90's kid :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

meh...1997. i dont understand when people say the amanda show was a 90s show. that was early 2000s, right? :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was born in the 90s, but I can't rber anything. I was born into the terrible tv shows...

by Anonymous 12 years ago
