-184 Favorite > Favourite and Color > Colour. Not one does it look ugly with the "U", but it just takes more time typing/writing that extra letter, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's how it's spelt in other parts of the world.

Color looks incomplete though. :|

I'm American but I much prefer adding the 'u' to words :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To each his own.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Way to be intolerant. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think that the u looks right in colour, but not favorite or any other words.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Looks like a slight American majority

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or self-hating Brits voted.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I actually prefer the u in colour, simply because it's easier to type. You get more chance to get the left hand to the r from the c. Color colour color colour color colour. Yep colour wins

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you're going to fuss about it why not drop the e at the end of favourite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Color and Colour are different ways to spell it in different places, not just because one looks cooler than the other.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

shut up dude. stop being so ignorant - people spell things differently.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hmmm why not ask that to the queen, huh?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"but it just takes more time typing/writing that extra letter" So are you the kind of person who uses "2" instead of "to/too" and "u" instead of "you," too?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

U and O have only the I between them. So what? You get bored writing all your words? So 'green' should just be 'gree' because the N is far away from the E?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Colour looks like it should be pronounced "coal-hour."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ColoUr is the way it's spelt in Canada & I believe the UK. American's spell it without a u. It's the same with favourite/favorite & neighbour/neighbor. Just depends on where you're from.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have to admit that I think "color" looks absurd, as does "favorite". You need the "u". It just makes sense. Writing them without the "u" is like pronouncing "stupid" "stoopid". It needs to be said "stew-pid". Otherwise it doesn't make sense. Bloody lazy Americans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

However, we say stoopid in America, not stew-pid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's definitely pronounced "stoo-pid" and not "stew-pid". You can even go on Google translator and have press "listen" and the lady will say "stoo-pid". Bloody stewpid British people..
