-377 Atheists are only in denial because deep inside, they fear God. And their just not ready yet to come out of the closet and finally accept the truth. Amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you for this post! I thought everyone on this site was atheist! I mean what do the even believe in, The Big Bang Theory?!?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha You're welcome. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why is it so necessary to believe in something?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well how do you think we were made then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you are foolish... its impossible to know how we were made no one was around for it...so there are only two groups of people...those who dont know and those who dont know they dont know

by Anonymous 13 years ago

we obviously wern't made by god as you seem to believe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't know what we were made by. I'm okay with the fact that there are unexplainable things, that I'll never know or understand. Why is it so hard to not try and shove religion down others' throats?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my question is was how was god made? and how was the thing that made god made? and how was that made? in the end we still don't know so why does it matter what we believe, because we all have the same chance of being wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe in fate and I believe in free will and the power of humanity making their own decisions that impacts the way the world is today. I can't get it through my head that there is a all powerful person in the sky ruling over every single person. I am sorry, but by assuming all people who are atheist fear God is almost going too far. But then again, if I was worried about people going too far, I shouldn't be reading this website.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(laugh.love.live): God doesn't rule over everyone. God created us and watches over us. We still have freewill and make our own decisions which impact the world. He doesn't make us do anything. And He's not an all-powerful person living in the sky. God is all-powerful, however he's not a person, He's a being. And He doesn't live in the sky. He is everywhere, all around us. He is also everywhere in the Universe at the same time as well as in Heaven, where ever that is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes you're right, he does revolve around all of us.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No you're wrong, how do you know god exists. And why the fuck do you automatically assume if a God did exist, it would be a guy, why can't God be a girl? It's the sexist old beliefs of the people who made it up 2000 years ago.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

god sounds like a stalker....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, through experience, most atheists don't believe in God because they had a traumatic experience and can't believe that there is a God that would do that to his people. I'm agnostic, but saying it's because they fear God is stupid and going too far.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(hello there): Most people choose to believe there is no existence of God, because they experienced agony in any stage of their lives. But that is just an excuse of not having to believe in God. There are billions of people out there without shelter/food/money and whatsoever. If they can manage to keep faith and believe in God, then normal people who went through traumas can too. It's just that some people want the easy way out, and choose NOT to believe in God because they feel safer. And if they didn't fear God, they'd live life like theres not tomorrow, although most non-believers can't even if they are willing to, because they do fear God or doubt him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wouldn't the easy way be believing in god because then you get to look forward to heaven where everything is perfect and shit. Atheists believe there's nothin after our lives so wouldn't they be taking the hard way?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(hello there): Okay, I don't know where you get your statistics from but "most atheists" certainly didn't become atheists just because of some experience, they are atheists because the claims that religions make are the most transparent lies you could think of.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People shouldn't be kind, moral, and ethical because they fear being smited by a man in the sky. They should be good people because it is the right way to behave as a human being.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most believers are good at heart, not only because they fear God, but because they make a vow to be moral and hence have a stronger beliefs towards God. If you're not good at heart, you'll be lead into the wrong path because you have no fear nor directions to follow fundamentally.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It almost sounds like you're saying those who are atheist are not good at heart, because we haven't dedicated ourselves to something which there isn't really any proof of. What you're saying is that people are "scared" into doing the right thing. That is so incorrect. People do the right thing because we know what's right, not because they're worried about what God might do to them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I dont fear god. Im an atheist. Ive had quite a few traumatic experiences, like my mom covering the right side of my body in hairspray then setting me on fire at the age of 4, but that didnt cause me to lose faith. Reading the bible both old and new testament and scientific discovery did.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Holy shit. That's just horrible. I hope you're alright now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, I'm a believer and I've read both the quran and some parts of the bible. But that's not the only influence I got, because I support science. Maybe you saw/read theories that were against the existence of God? I've seen and read both against and for. The chances of creating a simple 100 component non-living organism is 10 to the power 160. Scientists count anything above the power 50 to be zero. So people shouldn't assume that believers just believe in God because it's the right thing to do, because most believers support scientific theories too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but if you think of the entire universe and the fact that it is endless there is a good chance that it was by chance, not that you don't have a good point, science and religion go hand in hand, they explain the unexplanable

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How the hell is this post positively rated? Thank God (sorry , can't resist a pun =D) that this post didn't make it to the homepage! I do not believe that any deities exist , nor do I fear any of those supposed deities. Assuming you're a Christian of some sort , believing in the Bible requires believing that something that never happens in nature happened , take the virgin birth , for example. Making assumptions like that is what upsets us. We are not Satanists , and we're not "running away from God."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not Christian, but I've read the bible. The bible says everything written in the 2nd Quaran, and I've read all of them because I'm a Muslim. And I don't believe in the bible because since I'm a Muslim, I've learnt that some parts of the bible is copied of the 2nd quaran. And you don't have to believe in virgin birth, but don't tell me you don't believe in science either. Because it's proven: 1. Scientists never observed or duplicated in a laboratory. 2. And creating a simple 100 component non-living organism would take 3 billion billion billion billion billion billion billion years. The simplest protein that can be termed "living" has 400 components. 3.Two human beings had to evolve at the SAME time, at the SAME place with complementary reproductive organs. and 4. Scientists never found fossils of transitional life forms. You can homepage this post and see if it gets a positive vote.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is not a pun

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm an atheist and quite frankly, believing in God would make my life a hell of a lot easier. My family is Catholic and I am persecuted for my beliefs EVERY SINGLE DAY. Don't tell me I'm afraid. I'm scientifically minded and once science actually SUPPORTS religion (HA!) I'll back it right up. As for now all the Christian faith has is a book written about the messiah by people who NEVER saw him and only knew the stories because they had been passed down for generations by mouth. All science has is...oh wait, legitimate proof that evolution does happen and that matter can't just be created. Tell me, where were the cavemen and dinosaurs in the bible?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Read my reply to the comment above, I don't believe in the bible. And you're right, in the bible it IS written about the messiah by people who never seen him. But it's different in the quaran. The quaran actually says how our prophet Mohammad(PBUH) actually communicated with him. And since your asking me about cavemen and dinosaurs let me tell you something. None of it is in the bible, but the quaran even talks about theories of abduction. (what we refer to as "aliens"). The quaran even talks about higher intelligence. Most of you wouldn't know, because you've only read the bible. I've read scientific theories, the quaran ( and the previous ones) and some parts of the bible. So you'd be surprised.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Since when is this a debate about evolution... I could provide rebuttals (especially to #3) , but there is a character limit on my mobile device. I need to troubleshoot a laptop. @400941 (MeghanBee): Regarding your first 2 sentences , I empathize with you. It is frustrating when everything coming from your guardian's mouth is something about Satan or sin. It sounds like your family knows about your beliefs. I'm still in the closet , but I suspect my family may think I'm in there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i couldnt fear god less...i couldnt believe in him less...you have it so wrong its sad...if i did believe there was a god why wouldnt i get on his good side...?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't believe there's a god because ive decided my own fate. There's no proof and if he was real he would have done something recently because the worlds full of rape, murder, disease, and war. We all make our own destiny and nobody tells me how to live my life. Also i don't care what your religious prefrence is so don't bash on other peoples for fun. Thanks

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fear him? Fuck no. Im just not naive enougth to believe a bearded man in the clouds made us. I mean come on. How stupid could you be. Notice that as the human race has got smarter, the number of atheists have increased. Its no coincidence.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just think about it, religion has been, and will be the cause of EVERY SINGLE war in history. What kind of god would do that if he/she was real?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm sorry did God came to earth and started a war? No.Humans started it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, humans started it, and then blamed it on religion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WW2 - Hitler's fight against Jews, the war in iraq/afghanistan - Muslimism vs Christianity and look how many lives both of those took/are taking? Seriously, yes humans did start it, but because of their religious beliefs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea but for example Hitler didn't hate the jews because the Bible or God told him too.He just did and he happened to be a Christian. And the war in Irak and Afghanistan? Please that's all for the oil the terrorist acts started after the americans started killing everybody there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i accedntially replied to you above^^^ but its all trueha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What about the wars that are about oil? And World War II wasn't caused by religion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wars aren't entirely over oil. And did the Holocaust not happen?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, WW2 was about religion, i.e. the holocaust where over 6 million Jews were killed, or don't they teach you that anymore?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Btw it isn't their, it is they're

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also i don't like tweleve year olds starting trouble... hahaha

Your reply to (#563845) is way better than mine, but you should've used the reply button... :P (Unless you're like on a phone and you can't, then that's okay...)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

awe man i didn't notice i didn't hit it hahaha. Hopefully he saw it(or she)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People like you are the reason why I am an atheist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guys, really, can't we all just stop hating each other? I'm an atheist but believe in Buddhist philosophies. For example, that all human beings are inherently good and that we can only make things better by starting with ourselves. Look inside yourself and sort yourself out first before criticising other people's beliefs. And yes, I'm aware that it all sounds horribly cliche.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Go on youtube and search "Why do people laugh at creationists?" The things you guys believe in are so immensely stupid. Atheists are atheist because they know that the claims of religion are incorrect not because we fear god.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Those videos are awesome.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, crazy people make me LOL.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This post proves how ignorant some Christians are...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You couldn't be more wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am an athiest, not because I am afraid of god or because I had a traumatic experience. I just choose to live my life as a free being. I feel that the main reason why people believe in god (and this is opinion only) is that they want guidance and support which is perfectly fine. I just know that no matter what, this world will keep moving and when we die, we die. I believe in science, and I also am comfortable with the fact that I have no idea how the universe was created or what will happen to me. I don't believe in fate, I know that only I can move my life forward.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is kind of like saying that people over the age of 7 are in denial because deep down, they really fear Santa Clause

by Anonymous 13 years ago

An atheist would disagree and point out that the sole reason most people believe in God is because they're afraid to go to Hell. So... yeah. =/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, I actually don't think God exists. Stop trying to tell me what I believe, maybe that's why most atheists don't like christians, because you force your religion on us a ridicule us for not believing in God. I can't be afraid of something that does not exist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You don't have to attack us atheists just because you're to blind to see the truth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(HarryPotterFan777):The truth in your opinion.Let's clarify that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am an atheist, and I'm *definitely* not scared of your imaginary friend. What I am is a rational, thinking human being with the ability to process evidence and draw conclusions. I have studied pretty much all major religions, because I tried very hard to be Baptist when I was a kid and never felt a thing, and I wanted to see if maybe some other, older culture had it right. Still, not one unexplainable moment, for all those years in church and study. After many years of geniune open-mindedness and trying, I came to the conclusion that if there is some kind of higher intelligence that created us, it doesn't give a crap what we're up to. In the years since, I've been able to refine my theory... I do not believe in any supernatural form of higher power, and I find it unlikely that we were colonized by some extraterrestrial species either. I'm comfortable in the fact that I'm not sure where it all came from, and I'm confident that eventually, science will explain it, just as ...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just as they've been explaining all those other natural phenomena that used to have mythical explanations during more ignorant times. What I *do* believe in, is the largely-untapped(at least, consciously) and nearly limitless power of the human mind... at least, it's limitless power to alter the reality of the person. Truly believing in something seems to actually make it real for that person, in their mind. I believe that people create their own higher powers in whatever form they need. It's sortof the way 12 Step programs teach, except that they say it's a way of finding your way to one god to find your own... when what's really going on is, everyone has their own concept of god, and their level of belief is what colors their reality. A person with "faith" sees, even feels, miracles, where a logical person sees happy coincidence. A person with faith may feel like their own conscience is the voice of an angel, or even god. It's not lies... it's just as real to them as wh...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what we can see and touch is to us. In the end, I decided that if your religion makes you a better person, I support it. If you use it as an instrument of judgement and hate against others, fuck right off. I just wish more people could understand that to need those beliefs, what they're really saying is they don't have the faith in their conscious selves to control their own lives, and so "pass the buck" to their subconscious and use an ancient book to set the rules... but in the end, you are still in control! You still make all the decisions... you can be a good person with or without the belief system.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Politics are nothing of religion. Hitler followed a nortic belief of the aryan race. He was a failed fucked up artist who just happened to be one of the worlds greatest spokesman. He may have been evil but he had a way with words. And the iraq and afganahnistan war was started for many diffrent reasons. Not one.of them was every stated to be a religious reason. The united states does not fight religious wars. If your insisting its a war between christians and muslims your stupid. Don't use politics to back up your ideas. Plus the whole hitler thing would e more of a norse god thing. Like thor

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"God" is omnipotent or whatever, right? So "he" knows about anything that will ever happen? And "he" hates gays and sends them to hell... well, all along, he knew they would be gay... so he's maliciously and consciously sending innocent people to hell? If there's a god, he's more of an ass than Hitler.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Now that I think of it, it's more like an ironic phrase.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you seem to not understand that i wish there was a god

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And people like you give humanity a bad name "they believe this so they must be that" "they look like this, so they must be that" COME ON GROW UP

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How can you be afraid of something that you don't believe in?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I kind of think that religious people are afraid of meeting some sort of God because their religion is probably wrong.

by Anonymous 11 years ago
