if you need to ask that you probably won't gain much from an answer. and I'm not like a huge Peta supporter or anything; eat meat if you want to. but I think people should be aware of the way their livestock is raised, and stricter regulations should be enforced.

I ask because everyone has their own thoughts as to why. I was curious about your own. Most people are aware how the livestock they get their meat from that they eat are raised and a large amount of those people don't care. I agree with the sticter regulations on the treatment of the animals but knowing that that happens to the cows isn't going to stop me from eating my steak that's bloody as hell. It does bother me at times but it won't change how I eat. That's my thoughts though.

I wanted to be a vegan once. I even made it through Thanksgiving eating pretty much only fruit and bread. but it totally wasn't worth it and I gave up. I'm not a crazy activist but it bothers me how some people even tell their kids that chicken the animal and chicken the food are different things. >_>

I couldn't give up the turkey and we have ham at my familys Thanksgiving dinners. I love ham. Haha. I'm just lucky with food since I have a extremely fast metabolism and haven't broken 100 pounds. (I'm 17) There are people like that? o-O Shit, I've heard parents tell their kids the chicken died for relgious reasons and they decided not to waste the meat(Atheist as well) but I have never heard that.

Yeah. there are a few things it's just too hard to give up. and tofu can be totally delicious but Tofurkey sucks. Yeah, a friend of mine who is a preschool teacher was talking one time about how annoying it is that she has to teach them that meat comes from animals. It's so weird

Well I'm aware that chickens get their beaks removed and put into small cages and cows are forced to eat corn when they should be fed grass. But you can buy organic free range meat and that problem is solved so I don't think you should get mad at me for that.

chickens are debeaked to prevent them from hurting each other and cattle's stomachs are designed to eat corn and other low-grade grains and forages. And organic beef can be either grain or grass fed so if you are buying organic beef to avoid grain fed then its not really working unless you are sure what you are buying is grass fed.

The reason corn fed beef is bad is it makes cows produce more methane (you know what I mean) and it actually contributes to Global Warming. But I don't want to turn this into some big run out arguement on the internet, because those are just lame!!

Animals can't get jobs. .-. My dog was tied up to a tree and left in a backyard to die when her family moved out of the house. She was sixteen pounds on a forty pound frame. Had she been left for a few days longer, she'd have been dead. Animals don't deserve torture and the people who help them without financial gain, who actually spay/neuter the animals, who actually rescue them for terrible situations deserve all the money they can get.
