The question is about the apes... And a quick search gives the answer : "Comparative analysis indicated that chimpanzees and bonobos show population-level right handedness, whereas gorillas and orangutans do not." (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2063575/) True for chimps (who are much closer to humans), but not for gorillas.
