+134 This is America. We don't torture. Respect for human life is what separates us from those we're fighting. If we stoop to their level, in a way, we've already lost. But if we don't stoop to their level, we might lose in a worse way... by actually losing. Amirite?

o__o So you know, Guantanamo didn't close. In fact, the torture up there got ramped up since Obama was elected...It just hasn't been publicized. We're America, and yes, we DO torture. We shouldn't. Nobody should. But we sure as hell do and we spend all of our time whining about Don't Ask Don't Tell instead of FIXING it.

Fuck you dude, this is the fucking internet, not the "americanet". Not only Americans are on the internet even though it might seem so sometimes. You are, what we call, an Americunt.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Americunt... I've never heard that before. It makes me kind if sad, tho, because I can't really argue since I feel it's a valid description of some Americans. As long as you appreciate that we're not all like that.

This is NOT America, this is the internet.

On a side note, doesn't the last sentence of this post completely contradict the first part?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, and it makes it hard to agree or disagree.

fuck that, do what gets the job done. stop giving people fines for stealing, or putting them in jail for a week (oh no, warm food and a bed, but i can't leave this room..). cane those motherfuckers, physical pain sends a better message than a lost $50. maybe they'll remember not to steal when they can't sit down for two weeks. you have nothing to fear unless you plan on committing a crime

Violence begets violence.

So... you obviously are ignorant of America's history. Don't buy into what the government and simple social studies classes want us to believe. America has been using torture as a war tactic for several generations now. Do some research and educate yourself. America's hands aren't as clean as we'd like to think.
