"We" as the collective human race, I'm assuming. You're referring to the middle ages?
Because, you know, I've always taken showers regularly.

I don't recall doing that...

People in the Middle Ages only bathed 3 times in their lives- when they were born, on their wedding day, and when they died. I don't know where you're getting this "once a year" stuff.
Plus, they didn't invent the shower till the 20th century. (At least that's what i thought..)

Who says the OP is talking about the Middle Ages?

And, I'm sure they used to have the same problem with caking on makeup. Queen Elizabeh I used to wear makeup thick enough to cover the smallpox scars/holes in her face. :)

Pretty sure in some cultures during the middle ages there were only baths or showers or whatevers once a year, or every 10 years, only once a life time, three times a life time. In my country it was during birthdays, christmas and new years, plus birth of course, and marriage and probably death

I have never done that......

Thats only in European culture....so this only applies if you're white. Yep..those Europeans who beleived that they were far more "civilized" than everyone else because they had some fancy looking clothes.
