I have never heard anybody say that music sucks unless it's from the US, so I don't understand the context for this post.
I've never heard anyone make that generalization.
In the last decade or so, being FROM America means you have a better chance of sucking than if you're foreign
Heavy metal ≠ Screamo.
And (this goes for your Japanese music too) music isn't all about lyrics. I find that in a lot of screamo songs that I can't understand the lyrics I enjoy the guitar/drums/bass.
This post is weird. I can only name around 3 bands from the US that are really good but tons that are from Europe that are great.
Oh... bad assumption, sorry.
S CLUB 7!
Woo ooh woo ooh put your hands in the air!
That's completely ridiculous. Name one band that doesn't suck from anywhere other than the US. The Beatles? Awful. Rolling Stones? Couldn't stand them. Not like they're two of the most popular bands in history or anything...
So you just don't understand the whole sarcasm thing, do you?
Everyone forgot Coldplay.
I don't even understand why you think people would say this. I've never heard anyone say music from the US sucks.
I happen to like British bands and one of my favorite guitarists is Canadian.
That's so true, Justin Bieber is from Canada. :)
To everyone who voted No Way: Three Days Grace, Zebra & Giraffe, Prime Circle, Seether, Sick Puppies. (Canada, South Africa, South Africa, South Africa, Australia.) Run along and die now.
I didn't know Seether was from South Africa.
...but nickleback sucks...
Muse is good enough that they don't deserve to be compared to Nickleback though, there are much more applicable examples.
Oh, I misunderstood, I thought he was listing other terrible bands. I'm not that big a fan of Muse, and I know a lot of people dislike them, which is why I misunderstood.
I didn't understand at first either (I know a lot of people on this site like them [I don't really listen to them though] so I wasn't sure).
Nickelback is from Canada and Muse is from the UK, I believe. So why did you add that in? Just a good band not from America?
I freaking love Muse. It's three guys that make awesome songs. Matt Bellamy, the lead singer, sounds the same whether he's onstage, in the studio, or performing on a television show. They're just incredible.
Actually Canada, specifically Montreal, has made a LOT if very talented bands.
if they're from canada it probably does
Leaves' Eyes, Faun, Poets of the Fall, The GazettE, Depeche Mode, Sybreed... Mm.
Remember the British invasion? Oh and LRB's from Australia.
Die Atzen <3
Name one band not from America, that doesn't sound completely weird or boring.
Your username combined with this comment just made me so hard.
U2, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, David Bowie (though he's not a band), Led Zeppelin, Placebo, the Who, oh and a BUNCH of classical musicians.
Was this a joke?
The username should answer your question.
Don't forget Daft Punk and AC/DC.
Muse. Enough said.
You do know Justin Bieber is Canadian right?
Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, The Script.
Marianas Trench, Simple Plan, Stereos, Maroon 5
Those are really terrible examples :/
