Money (in the US anyway) is made of cotton and linen, not paper.

It's made out of a specific mixture of cotton and linen that is only sold to the US government so people won't counterfeit it. Making it out of paper would cause too many problems.

Or better yet, the government could save a lot of money by using coins for dollar instead of "paper" money because the coins last longer.
