-396 So, Proactive really works, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It most certainly does not

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really?? It did for me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not for me...made it worse for me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

awe, well, i'm sorry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It always makes things worse for me, too. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never really had acne but I had a little on my chin that I was self conscious about so I got proactive. Proactive gave me LOADS of acne all over my cheeks and I had to go to a dermatologist to get rid of it and now I have light red marks on my cheeks that are fading, but very slowly. Proactive ruined my skin. However, my friend bought it off me and it cleared her skin in two weeks. But then she broke out still using it about 2 weeks after that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it worked for several months until it caused my face to break out into hives, so no.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I thought that only happened to me! It's the new formula, it makes my skin break out like crazy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Crazy! I'm glad I posted this, very interesting. That sucks, it worked like a dream for me, I've been using it for 4-5 months. No breakouts AT ALL.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It worked for me too! But the bad thing was even though I have really oily skin, it dried out my face like crazy :/ I just used a good moisturizer and it was fine after that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's what happened to me. It cleared up my face really well, but it always dried it out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I heard from some people it works, but it has REALLY harsh chemicals. It kills everything on your face. I use this Witch Hazel and Seabreeze stuff that I got from CVS, and a moisturizer.

accutane people

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haven't you seen the recent recall for accutane... not sure i want to try that if it could result in serious mental handicaps/death

by Anonymous 13 years ago

mental handicaps/death?! wtf, pretty sure I'd be okay with a few spots on my face rather than get... mentally handicaped!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, it worked for me. I used to have horrible cystic acne everywhere. Used it for 5 months, havent had a break out since. I can't believe it could be that harmful though! Guess I was lucky...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Def did not work for me. Made it worse. When I finally went to the dermatologist I found it wasn't even acne, but a rash that apparently ALOT of people get after using proactive. I had to take antibiotics and use a bunch of diff creams and whatnot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

!! Thats crazy. I've only known of one person that it affected them poorly, & she got chemical burns under her eyes that pussed & everything. But she has sensitive skin to begin with, & used it even though I told her not to. :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Mine doesn't even affect my face. Doesn't cause more breakouts, but it doesn't get rid of them either. The only piece of the system I'm going to keep using is the refining mask. That actually helps.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That refining mask is amazing, that's the greatest part. And that green tea moisturizer was really nice too, but you dont get much of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If I ever get acne, I know what product I'm NOT going to use.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Accutane is prescription only and before a dermatologist will prescribe it you have to go over a bunch of legal crap and sign a contract that you are not pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant while taking it because it has been known to cause those problems to the baby not the person actually taking it. There's pages and pages you need to sign stateing you understand the risks and blah blah blah.

I have only 1 pimple at a time, so not acne. I use a variety if products, but by using Cetaphil it has cleared up my skin a lot. For prior who use Proactive and it doesn't work, try Cetaphil.
